OSU- losing 6 seniors, are they going to suck as bad as I hope they do? I know they've got JamesON Curry, but who else will step up?

OU- Is Bookout gone after this year? I think Taj Gray has 1 more year.

t.u. loses Buchman and do they lose Klotz?

Baylor should be on the rise. They redshirted a big man and had a good recruiting season.

Tech- loses Ross and who else?

Kansas loses 4 seniors one of which was Simien

Colorado- No clue

K-State- Isn't Massey a sophmore? I hope he leaves. Other than that they can shoot threes.

Missouri- Should be good. That hot head that they have is really good. Maybe he'll go to Europe.

Nebraska- No clue.

ISU- don't they have a young team. Should be a North contender.

So, obviously my indepth analysis is lacking, but this is what I know without researching. I see the Big XII being easier to manage next year. If we get Antoine back, we could really have a chance of 10+ wins in conference next year. Hopefully a few more road wins!

Buckman is only a junior at Texas so he'll be back. They do lose Klotz, Harris, and Taylor, but they should get Tucker back. They should be very good next year.

Bookout is only a junior also. Gray is a junior too, but I've heard he might go pro. Not sure about that one. Regardless OU should also be very good.

OSU needs their freshmen to step up.

Tech loses Ross and Devon(sp?) Giles. They need some big men to step up because they are still good at guard with Jackson and Zeno.

Iowa State might be the best team in the North. They bring back everyone except Homan.

Kansas loses pretty much everyone who contributed this year except Giddens. Should be a down year for them. Very similar to OSU.

Massey is a senior at KSU, so he's gone, as well as their other big man Justin Williams.

Missouri may be better if they get a new coach. If not, they will underachieve again.

Colorado brings back everyone from a pretty bad team.

I don't know much about Nebraska. They lose a couple seniors whose names I recognize in Muhleisen and Turek.

Baylor will blow everyone away with their infusion of talent from the greatest recruiting class ever under the leadership of the greatest coach ever.

Bookout will be a senior next year. They only people OU loses off this year's team is Jason Williams and Johnnie Gilbert. OU will be the favorites next year.

They lose Klotz, Buckman will be back.

Too many unknown factors.

Which underclassmen will leave? Wright? Gray? Gibson? Stinson?

That would be a program killer.

Kansas might lose Giddens as well. He is considered a better pro prospect (and rightfully so) then any of the three seniors they are losing.

But, they get Chris Moody back. They'll be fine.

There is no way Giddens is a better pro prospect than Simien. I would even put Miles ahead of Giddens. All Giddens has is his shot, which has been very spotty this year. He is not a very good defender and is not a good ball handler at all. That's why he's now coming off the bench for KU.

I understand he might go pro, but it would be a mistake.

As far as next year:

OSU and KU are both bringing in great recruiting classes (probably each of their best in the last 5 or 10 years). They will both be solid.

If OU loses Gray, they will take a step back, otherwise they'll be right back in the hunt.

tu will be very solid, they're bringing in another solid recruiting class and, as mentioned above, will get Tucker back.

If Wright returns, A&M will probably be one of 6 teams that can make a case for winning the Big 12. Next year could be an even more competitive year across the Big 12 than this year was!

Giddens stock has falled off the map. I dont see anyway he would be a first rounder if he came out this year.

Texas and BlowU will be the pre-season favorites next year.

Texas only loses Taylor, Klotz and Harris.....none of whom were consistant starters (Klots only became a consistant starter after Aldridge went down). We'll get Tucker and Aldridge back next year, and have another really solid recruiting class coming in.

BlowU only loses two guys I believe.

KU and OSU will struggle, but both (KU particularly) have elite classes coming in. It's impossible to ever count the Jayhawks out.

Texas and OU will be the preseason top 2 in some order next year.

OSU brings in a great recruiting class, but JamesOn Curry is the only player with any experience that they return for next year.

KU doesn't return much at all.

Gibson isn't going to leave after this year. After next year, there is a good chance.

ou and tu will be the favorites. I think we have a good chance to finish 3rd if Wright comes back although tech will also be good, and I suspect ku will be better than most people think.

KU will benefit from playing the Big 12 North schedule as well (playing Iowa State twice vs. OU, OSU, UT, Tech, & A&M).

That's just plain dumb.

Texas will have 5 McDonald's all-americans on the team next year. I see them as a very likely Final-Four team. Buckman, Gibson, Aldridge, and Tucker all have the POTENTIAL to be all-conference next year. After a year in the weight room, Aldridge will be a terror next year.

Assuming Aldridge fully recovers from injury, assuming Tucker does make it back, and assuming Barnes stays. That's a lot of assuming. I still think it's tough to predict Final Four even if all the above happens.

Texas will be tough though.

This exact same type of analysis was done the spring right before we went 0-16 in conference. A lot of people were projecting the conference was going to be easier then too because the other teams were losing lot's of players and that it was going to be Melvin's year. Then look what happened...

The Big 12 will be EXTREMELY tough next season. From top to bottom is will be very good.

Baylor will be much better with their recruiting class. OSU and KU will be just fine with their classes as well (OSU has 4 of the top 10 kids from Texas).
Colorado will be better returning most everyone including Roby who was a stud fish this season.

K-State might be the one team that falls off losing Massey and Martin.
