First and foremost, thanks for all of your support this season at Reed Arena. YOU played a huge part in all of the success that Aggie Hoops achieved this year. The home court advantage that YOU created had never been seen before at Reed Arena...and it will continue to grow and get even tougher for opponents to come play in Aggieland.
Our work is not done.
Sunday evening we will find out the Aggies postseason fate – both for the men's team and the women's team. There is a good chance that both programs have earned the opportunity to host a NIT/WNIT game NEXT WEEK!
As you obvisously know...Spring Break started today and if the Aggies are selected to
host...we need YOUR support. We need the strength of the 12th Man. The men have not
been to a post season tournament since the 1994-95 season and the women since 1995-96. This is our chance to make a statement about the direction of Aggie Hoops and the strength of the 12th Man.
To help make Reed as intimidating as possible and to help commemorate the event we are going to Maroon & White Out the entire arena. Imagine the whole place packed to the rafters with alternating sections of maroon and white shirts. And in true Aggie fashion the MSC Bookstore stepped up big. Here's how (and trust me - these shirts are very cool!):
Should the Aggies be selected to host an NIT game, the MSC Bookstore will be selling a special commemorative $5 t-shirt for the event, which can be bought starting Monday at the MSC Bookstore, the Aggie Locker in the Zone and at Reed Arena near the ticket windows. We are encouraging fans who buy
tickets to the game to purchase a colored shirt based on their ticket section. Fans with tickets in EVEN sections should buy
and wear the MAROON shirt. Fans in ODD
sections should buy and wear the WHITE shirt. Since the student section is general admission and students won’t know what section they are in until the actually get to their seat, the MSC Bookstore has agreed to have people in the student section selling shirts on a cash only basis, so bring your $5 bill and buy a shirt whenyou get to your seat. Let’s show our full support of Aggie Basketball by creating a maroon and white pattern throughout Reed Arena!
I will send out the exact game details as soon as they become available. Until then...make plans to ROCK REED next week...and just as important - tell your neighbors, friends, classmates about the game AND THE T-SHIRTS!
STUDENT TICKET PULL INFORMATION:
1) The first 1,000 students to pull their tickets will receive a FREE ticket courtesy of Saturn (more details to come).
2) All students with a valid Texas A&M Student ID can pull a ticket for the NIT game, if we host.
3) Student ticket pull will start at the outside windows of the Texas A&M ticket office at 8am-5pm, Monday, March 14. At the Reed Arena Box Office, student ticket pull will start at 10am-5pm, Monday, March 14.
4) Seats are general admission in the student section of Reed
Thanks again - there's till work to do, but if there is one student body in the country that can do it, it's the Aggies'.
