sorry if this has already been posted:

First and foremost, thanks for all of your support this season at Reed Arena. YOU played a huge part in all of the success that Aggie Hoops achieved this year. The home court advantage that YOU created had never been seen before at Reed Arena...and it will continue to grow and get even tougher for opponents to come play in Aggieland.

Our work is not done.

Sunday evening we will find out the Aggies postseason fate – both for the men's team and the women's team. There is a good chance that both programs have earned the opportunity to host a NIT/WNIT game NEXT WEEK!

As you obvisously know...Spring Break started today and if the Aggies are selected to
host...we need YOUR support. We need the strength of the 12th Man. The men have not
been to a post season tournament since the 1994-95 season and the women since 1995-96. This is our chance to make a statement about the direction of Aggie Hoops and the strength of the 12th Man.

To help make Reed as intimidating as possible and to help commemorate the event we are going to Maroon & White Out the entire arena. Imagine the whole place packed to the rafters with alternating sections of maroon and white shirts. And in true Aggie fashion the MSC Bookstore stepped up big. Here's how (and trust me - these shirts are very cool!):

Should the Aggies be selected to host an NIT game, the MSC Bookstore will be selling a special commemorative $5 t-shirt for the event, which can be bought starting Monday at the MSC Bookstore, the Aggie Locker in the Zone and at Reed Arena near the ticket windows. We are encouraging fans who buy
tickets to the game to purchase a colored shirt based on their ticket section. Fans with tickets in EVEN sections should buy
and wear the MAROON shirt. Fans in ODD
sections should buy and wear the WHITE shirt. Since the student section is general admission and students won’t know what section they are in until the actually get to their seat, the MSC Bookstore has agreed to have people in the student section selling shirts on a cash only basis, so bring your $5 bill and buy a shirt whenyou get to your seat. Let’s show our full support of Aggie Basketball by creating a maroon and white pattern throughout Reed Arena!

I will send out the exact game details as soon as they become available. Until then...make plans to ROCK REED next week...and just as important - tell your neighbors, friends, classmates about the game AND THE T-SHIRTS!

STUDENT TICKET PULL INFORMATION:

1) The first 1,000 students to pull their tickets will receive a FREE ticket courtesy of Saturn (more details to come).
2) All students with a valid Texas A&M Student ID can pull a ticket for the NIT game, if we host.
3) Student ticket pull will start at the outside windows of the Texas A&M ticket office at 8am-5pm, Monday, March 14. At the Reed Arena Box Office, student ticket pull will start at 10am-5pm, Monday, March 14.
4) Seats are general admission in the student section of Reed

Thanks again - there's till work to do, but if there is one student body in the country that can do it, it's the Aggies'.

its kinda gay they aren't donating the shirts, gotta pay $5. but getting the students in for free is good bull.

So much for the free shirts.

If only our athletic department had the money that a Texas Tech, a Michigan, or OU does then maybe we could get free t-shirts and maybe a scoreboard while we are at it.

come on 5 bucks isnt bad at all- suck it up and do it
rcb05
How long do you want to ignore this user?
five bucks is not bad, but it will be a lot harder to pull off if people have to go spend five dollars at the MSC than if the shirts were donated and laid out on all the seats.
AgEfan

They should do just an A&M basketball shirt not an NIT shirt.

I am glad we are going to the NIT, but I am not going to buy an A&M NIT t-shirt.

Just my opinion.

That was my favorite part.

But seriously, $5 isn't bad. We're talking 12,000 shirts here. I don't think they want to give away that many shirts. $5 is about as low as you can get it without having 100 different sponsors names on it.

There aren't going to be 12,000 people there.

Yeah, you're right. But the athletic department will probably prepare for capacity anyway. One would hope.

I agree. Why not just have a nice A&M basketball shirt? An NIT shirt is not something most will want to wear beyond that game.

oddly enough the only cool a&m bball shirt i've ever seen, i caught at a game...white tee with aTm logo and "basketball" underneath with NCAA bball logo on the back. you'd wonder they don't sell the things.

maybe I'm retarded, but I'm marginally confused.
Do you pull multiple tickets but with an id instead of a sportspass? Any ideas on specific logistics? Or do you think they'll email out the specifics on Sunday and I should just shut up and be patient?
rcb05
How long do you want to ignore this user?
here's the impression i got from the e-mail:

-you pull with an ID, not a sports pass
-you can only pull one ticket per ID
-only the first 1,000 students who pull get free tickets (i assume the rest are $4)

but like rob said, more details will come out later.

Wow. So skip a meal at Whataburger or buy two less beers next time you go out and buy the t-shirt. I swear, people on this board whine and moan way too much about stuff. We're talking about $5 for god's sake.

sorry i'm retarded. i thought maybe the NIT would have different crazy rules. because of the shirt situation... or something.

Not to be negative, but you couldn't pay me $5 to take an NIT shirt.

Just make an Aggie basketball shirt, it will go over much better, and actually be worn by people after the game.

Please don't show up for the game.

Seriously, if you people want an Aggie basketball shirt why don't you go do something about it instead of coming on here and complaining about stuff that other people have worked hard to put into place? I didn't even have anything to do with this shirt, but now I can relate and I just think it's pathetic the kind of response this is getting.

It just funny how just about every other school in the country can find a way to give free shirts but we can't.

It's pathetic that people have to complain about everything. Come on, couldn't pay you 5 bucks to take an NIT shirt?

I'm really not trying to sound all uppity about this, cuz I would rather get a free shirt too. I guess I'm just biased and wish other people saw things how I did. I'm gonna let it go though.

curlee,

Believe me, I used to see things related to Aggie hoops just like you do, still do.

When we start being a perennial tourney team next year, people will look back on that NIT shirt and laugh.

One of my beefs over the last several years was that it was next to impossible to find a good Aggie basketball shirt, unless you counted the MSC Bookstore shirts that were white with "Aggie Basketball" emblazened across the front of them (hardly what I'd call a *good* Aggie Basketball shirt though).

I'm extremely excited that we're actually talking about Aggie basketball and the post-season, I just don't think an "NIT" shirt is the way to go about it.

Umm who cares that its an "NIT" shirt? Its a freaking $5 T-shirt! You could never wear it again and not feel ripped off...

How long do you want to ignore this user?
I'd much rather buy an NIT shirt than a Galleryfurniture.com Bowl shirt, and I'm still some people still have one of THEM lying around. In fact I'd rather have an NIT shirt than a Cotton Bowl shirt, and I see people wearing Cotton Bowl merchandise all the time.

I wish the shirts were free, and am surprised that the athletic department is going to try this when they know they're gonna have to sell them. If you don't want to buy a shirt, fine. In that case, <curleeaggie06> wear two shirts! </curleeaggie06>

Point taken 83.

I guess it's just frustrating that for several years the AD was bugged about getting some Aggie hoops shirts/shorts out in the bookstores to avail.

Capitalize on the popularity of hoops right now, and make some kickin' Aggie basketball Ts.

I'm not saying I won't buy the $5 shirt, because I will. But if they really wanted the maroon and white out to work then they would give the shirts away. Some people just won't be willing to go the extra mile.

How hard is it to wear the appropriate color shirt if you just dont wanna pay the 5 bucks????
