Tongue planted firmly in cheek, but apparently we have some admirers among the Longhorn faithful.

After the game, Dave South interviewed Assisstant Alvin Brooks. Coach Brooks said there were more recruits, HS coaches and AAU coaches from Dallas and Houston in attendance than they've ever had for a game. I imagine they came away impressed that a "football school" could produce that kind of basketball atmosphere...and that kind of result in only BCG's SECOND conference game (and first home conference game). Kudos to the students and fans for making a difference last night! I listened on the Internet, and it was LOUD!

Reed could have potential, just because you're the aggies and you know how to make sound, but your fan support for basketball is light years away from being recognized. Y'all just can't do it every game like they do at these venues listed above. Y'all could, but can't. Yeah.

Mackey Arena at Purdue is hard to beat

Reed has the potential to be a top 10 home court. All you have to have is a consistently winning program and the student body will turn that place into a snake pit.

I mean, look at football and baseball... if you get a "tradition" of winning started, the kids will take it over and make it special.

On a different note, I'm pretty sure that the athletic department does not "own" Reed Arena... and if that is in fact true, A&M needs to take a cue from Texas and buy out the rights to the arena. That would be a huge step in the right direction.

I can say that Rupp Arena (Kentucky) is darn impressive. On the other hand, Freedom Hall (Louisville) is a ghetto. A large, packed ghetto, but hey, what ghetto isn't???

Great tagline on that thread:

"Tsunamis and 12" of snow in South Texas are unusual, but an Ag b-ball team that doesn't utterly suck may portend an approaching apocalypse. Good job Ags. Bad sign world."

Guys, It was a joke! Some of you take this stuff too seriously. By the way, are most people familiar with the meaning of "tongue in cheek" or is that phrase obscure for most Americans? It kind of ocurred to me when the first poster actually replied to the question, that he didn't understand the phrase.

Maybe an icon - thus eliminating the need for reading comprehension - might get the message across.

If you click on the link and read what the horns are saying . . . . just do it! You'll be glad you did.

Whoa, easy there big guy. One big win for the program does not a home court advantage make. This is laughable. Great win no doubt, but baby steps. Just a short period ago we couldn't get many people to the games. Pace yourself.
I know it is tongue in cheek, but I had to say this after seeing the title of the thread.

I would have to agree.

We have, without any question, the best home court advantage in the country this season. I'm not sure that this is even open to debate after the Texas game. The 6th man really showed it's stuff that night.

The fat guy really got it all started though. I know this might sound crazy, but I believe that he is as responsible for the turnaround of this current Aggie squad as the new coaching staff is. He has made the game day atmosphere as good as it is in any other building in America. It's better than Duke right now, and it is all because of him. I thought his performance at the Oakland game was the beginning of it all. His enthusiasm has been contagious and it has spread to the masses like cholera soon will in Sri Lanka. We owe that guy a great deal for helping turn things around as they have.

It's been a long time. Long time.

I could get stoned for this, but I loved attending games in G. Rollie. The place was cozy and got really loud.
