My thoughts on the game

Totally surpassed my expectations of this team. I hadn't had a chance to see them play all year since I graduated last May, but there is not a lot about this team that you can dislike. They hustled, played super defense at times, and passed the ball.

Gillespie coached this one perfectly IMO... If we started running with KU, we would have lost by 30. We milked the shot clock, and got a decent look 1 outta every 2 trips, which combined with good defense kept it close.

We tried our best to get Wright hot at the end of the game, but he just wasn't getting clean looks and the runners in the lane weren't falling... If he gets hot (which I will admit I've yet to see him do in a big game situation), we win that game going away.

I think a lot can be said about the performance tonight. From what I saw, we did not shoot well at all, yet hung with the #2 team in the nation at their house. The shots will eventually fall, but the defense says a whole lot. This team has a realistic at beating some of the lower Big 12 teams and playing with some of the higher ones, sneaking a win or two out.

I had my doubts about Gillespie, but if we can keep this intensity up, consider me impressed.

I think you can sum it up with 3 words: disciplined (still needs some improvement, but WAY better than anything we've seen from the Ags in a long time), intensity, and defense.
