Was absolutely 11,200...just got home after sitting in the traffic for a good long while.

Damn nice turn-out and a good game. If not for the 3 pointers near the end, this was a 20 point victory.

It was nice to see Reed so crowded tonight.

Although I bet most of those tickets were either free or 2 for 1. Everyone I saw in line had those free ticket vouchers.

Apparently, the athletic department didn't think it would happen either. There was one ticket window open and no one to direct traffic after the game. The game was great, but before and after were clusterf***s.

Didn't have many concession stands open either. I got tired of the lines and went back to my seat.

They only shot 37.5% from 3pt land. In the past, that would have been a good defensive effort for us....

To get back to the original topic, great job by the locals on showing up in mass tonight. It had to give the team a big boost.

I just got back home from the game and IT WAS AWESOME!! If every game has that sort of atmosphere, I won't be needing to make plans for Spring Break...

This crowd was completely unexpected. Last night caught everyone by surprise. A good surprise, though.

They weren't even collecting for parking.

Not a slam, but many of the fans in attendance were redeeming their couplons for 2 free tix that A&M sent to their employees(which I used). It was also a 2 fer 1 game, as well.
I seriously doubt that we would have had near that many if it weren't for the promotions. Nevertheless, it was great to see this kind of turnout. Maybe it will get some to come back as a paying customers next time.

They could give away the tickets for free and Id be happy. The kids deserve big crowds for how they are playing.

What the hell was this all about. It's precisely why I didn't fall for the con of prepaid parking with my season tickets; you end up getting screwed in some way if you do.

I'm sure Billy G. doesn't give a damn about how the fans are getting in...just so long as they keep coming back.

If 2-1 coupons or even lowering ticket prices (what a novel concept) gets butts in the stands, I'm all for it!

Now, if only half of those in attendance would go to the women's games......

School's not in session. Once school starts back up, they will be charging.

who cares why they came, the point is they came. and hopefully they enjoyed the product enough that they will come back for more. It should be sold out on Jan. 12. Will school be back in session then?

Drove in from Houston. Used a 2 for 1 coupon that the 12th Man Foundation sent me for use with BB games over the holidays.

Good experience.

That was the best game all year. Everybody was in the game and the guys played great. The refs sucked but we won so its all good!

2 for 1 was a great idea. How many of those people getting in for free will now want to come back and pay full price sometime? We know games vs. OU, tech and Texas will be full, but you need fans to come back like that for the Baylor, K-State, Missouri and Iowa State games as well.

we have to get the fans in to see that this team is different. I watched Metcalf's teams, Barone's teams and Melvin's teams...and now Billy's team. Barone's team made me not want to go back, Melvin's teams made me say that we looked like a college team finally...Billy's team made me say we look like a good college team (didn't say great). Folks come see that for themselves and maybe they'll start supporting the team.

To be honest, with the product our basketball team has put on the floor the last decade, $12 for a ticket is tough to swallow. For four of us to go watch a team that doesn't win a Big12 game is $48 plus parking, plus long-lined, overpriced concessions? They have to get people excited and these were good ways to do it. I enjoyed the game and thought that although sloppy at times and our depth not great, the starting 5 and another player or two were very entertaining.

For those using the excuse of the free ticket giveaways, may I remind you that a lot of schools offer free tickets, etc, even for football and they still can't draw a crowd! It was a fun game and glad everyone was there!

they've given promotions similar to this in the past (including other games this year). this seems to be one of the few times people actually took advantage of it. i'm glad people had a change of heart and showed up. i wish i could have been there but i've been in california the past week. gig'em ags.
