In year 1 at A&M with a roster constructed from the last 15% of players in the portal. We have got ourselves the best young coach out there. Let's keep on dancing Ags!

I am glad Bucky McMillan found the players that mesh well with his coaching philosophy built on a high-tempo, aggressive, and relentless style of play designed to force turnovers, shoot high-volume three-pointers, and play deep into the bench.

Give it up for the boosters and NIL funding that bid high for a lot of these players as well

*not detracting from Bucky but others need praise as well, we bid high to get Agee and others

Buzz didn't want to bother politicking boosters for more NIL money. Adios, loser.

He and his staff definitely MacGyver'ed this squad into an NCAA tourney-worthy bunch...got a big-time opportunity in front of them Saturday.

Congrats to Bucky, staff, and team on the win! Extremely well done tonight . They have exceeded any reasonable expectations for the season already . The challenge now is to do it again against a very good UH team. I am sure of this , they will lay it out there and give max effort .

Side comment. I was impressed with OKC as a venue for this . OKC is big enough to handle this from an infrastructure and facilities standpoint but not so crowded that everything is a pain to accomplish . Arena and arena staff handled it well.

I was also impressed with the Nebraska fans who maybe outnumbered Aggies for a session they weren't even playing in. Seemed like generally just good fans that just wanted to see some good ball. I got a few anti Trev comments but other than that nothing but positives. My answer to the anti-trev comments were … all I know is he seems to make good basketball coaching hires . Didn't get any pushback on that.

HUGE props to Coach! What he has done this first season is damn near miraculous and as many have pointed out, this will probably be the least talented team he has here

I like the arena as well, but it's a lot easier to handle all of the logistical things for an event when the arena is no more than half full. Go there for a Thunder game or a concert and see how they do things when it's butt-to-nut crowded. They still do a really good job, but unless you have something like Duke or UNC playing in nearby Greensboro, it's pretty easy to handle the crowd for an NCAA tournament opening weekend.

I'll give Buzz a bit of a break in that his first year was Covid and his second year was a disaster of Covid hangover. The next three years, however, were fully on him.

Hope we get to compare it to how Houston handles the Sweet 16 but the traffic is worse in Houston on your average Tuesday at 2 AM .

year 1 didn't suck because of COVID. Buzz had a&m losing to pathetic schools like Fairfield in December...

He did have the team coming on at the end of that year .. but it was too late and a&m had to win the sec tourney to make the dance, which was not likely.

So how many games can he win before some blue blood like Kentucky or Indiana comes calling? If he makes it past sweet 16 this year he gets calls. And we have to pay or is mama calling?

But why?

Was TAMU the only school going thru it? Sport results are always relative. You could have a team that sucks. But if everyone else sucks more, then you'll look great. :-)

FWIW Indiana is not a blue blood in basketball anymore.

Nobody knew how to handle Covid, especially when you're new to a program trying to build your roster. Buzz didn't have the transfer portal and a big NIL budget. Rebuilding after Kennedy's programs fell off was a lot tougher than rebuilding today.

And I'm not defending Buzz…he absolutely should have done better during his time here. But not *everything* was his fault.

tu went sub-or-barely-over .500 for many years there in football. Media still blows them like they invented the game. Blue bloods are what the media decides they are.

I get what you're saying though. Cruising by on their name and their name alone

Respect to Bucky, Bucky ball, and the players who bought in and made it happen on the court.

This team has accomplished more than what I thought was possible this year considering what Coach was up against from the get go. And the team was fun to watch.
