Penn State shot 13/22 from 3 because we constantly gave them clean looks due to Buzz' defenses rotating late.
They also hit some really long 3's and done tougher ones,. Even with open looks they were beyond what they should have shot.
That team was just on fire that night
No doubt they hit at a higher clip that normal, but in the modern game a clean look from 24 feet isn't a bad shot (reference Wade Taylor). We gave them clean look after clean look after clean look in that game.
They had one guy that had a career night, and was 8-10 on 3's, hitting most of them heavily contested. It wasn't us giving wide open 3's guy was unconscious. The next game he was 2-10. Just the way it goes sometimes. Misleading to say we just gave them lots of wide open threes. More accurate was they had one guy play out of his mind and hit everything.
"Heavily contested"

You posted 5 shots where he is shooting from 27+ feet in transition. You made my point that one guy played out of his mind, having a career game.
"hitting most of them heavily contested"
No, they weren't.
"It wasn't us giving wide open 3's"
Yes, it was.
As my original reply stated, a clean look from 24 feet is a good shot in modern hoops -- it's why you routinely saw Wade Taylor get the green light on them, because a 24 foot 3-pointer before the defender closes on you is a better shot than a 22 foot contested 3-pointer. This is post-Curry modern basketball.
He was one of the best 3-point shooters in college hoops that year, and we gave him clean looks. "Oh he was just lucky against us and of course unlucky against the horns!" is just a lazy take.
