Bucky addressed Lane in the press conference. Didn't really give a reason, but confirmed it wasn't injury or disciplinary. On Vinson, it just seems Bucky picks some games as Vinson games and some as Fede games as that 3rd big.

I was surprised we did not see Lane at all. But his play has dipped lately. I am guessing the height and size advantage of Kentucky guards was also a factor.

I like the player but I'm not sure he can compete with this level of talent. His only help at this point is to limit the number of our turnovers. We can't give up a position that cannot score. We have to get 3 pointers from our guards.

I think it was more about seeing what Pop and Josh do with more minutes. And they did great, especially Pop.

That is putting it kindly. He has not been agressive in penetration and without penetration, we just throw the ball around without creating any havoc. Not good when you want to shoot 30 threes a game.

I actually kinda liked the play up to the turnover. I do not believe we do well in "slow down the game and burn clock mode". I think that's how we lost SMU and maybe UT. Pushing the ball is what we do and I was happy he was doing so … right up until he got caught under the rim.

The clutch FTs were nice. He has been less than clutch, but that saved the game. Again, he really wants to win so he gets frantic trying to make things happen.

He's also sometimes a little optimistic about his teammates' abilities to make plays, that pass to Dibba worked out last night. The lob to Federiko last game was… less successful.

The ridiculous narrative that "haters are going to hate" is an way over used phrase that isn't accurate. Nobody that knows or saw the game and mentions a bad play by Pop hates him. This is a sports talk site and the good and bad should be discussed. Now while he had a good game last night, he has also made similar bad plays like last night in prior games. He probably hasn't played more this year in part because of those kinda wild almost out of control plays. He is a senior at the end of his college career and had he made a good decision it could have helped finish the game.

They may not hate him as a person but there's plenty of people on here who hate his game. Hell a guy on premium earlier today said he hopes he doesn't come back next season. It was the same with Wade Taylor for some reason.

As I said it, I'll comment. "Haters gonna hate" means that regardless of everything else, the focus is on the negative. I pointed out that Pop controlled the ball on at least 20 possessions in a game we controlled after UK threw the first punch.

The one play I've seen several people post about? The drive and feed to Clements for an easy 3? No. Drive and feed to Agee for a monster dunk? No. It was the attempt to be aggressive resulting in a turnover (2:1 Assist:TO BTW). That is 100% a hater hating.

How about that transition pass where we actually scored on a fast break!

Ha, I'll raise my hand! I thought Pop brought a real spark off the bench and I still have a hard time liking him as a player. And I'm sure some of that bias from me is how I viewed his recruitment. I really wanted Pope (embarrassing…)

One thing I was totally wrong on is Pop's shooting ability. He didn't shoot the ball great at Tech and that's been a really pleasant surprise this season.

Plus he rested his legs.
