I called you out because you made two posts and then another Post and as New York Aggie said keeping it real. If you'd only made the one post, I wouldn't have said anything, but since you did multiple it kind of jumped out that you're keeping it a little too much real

Look at Swifties post. This is what this thread is all about.

And as Bucky said college basketball should be fun and when your team is 6-1 in conference, it should also be fun!

I responded to people who responded to me. Am I not supposed to do that?

Constantly predicting doom is not self-fulfilling but it is self-loathing.

Regardless of who the Ags have played, we deserve to be in the top 25 going into this week. Not confident about the next batch of games but at this exact moment they deserve it.

I'd say tap the breaks but it doesn't matter. Yes, we should have realistic expectations. But the same idiots will be all over this board and game threads *****ing and screaming how we suck regardless. Has anyone seen Fquin and that lot since the UT game thread? No.

So you know what? Screw the manage the excitement stuff. Let's just enjoy this. Winning by 20+ is fun. Wired Reed is fun. Being first after 7 games is a TON of fun. All regardless of opponent.

Yep

Nothing worse than the "keeping it real" crowd

Wow, I did not predict doom in any way. But I guess this is the way of social media/bulletin boards. If you do not agree 100% with the sunshine, I am a doom and gloomer.

On the topic of actually enjoying fandom, it is always fun to be able to talk smack to fans of other teams like, "What was that? You'll have to speak up It's hard to hear you from the top of the conference rankings!"

We are still way ahead of where i thought we'd be.

I figured this was maybe a .500 SEC team AT BEST. thiugh i didn't want to out any limits on them.

I mean, we ARE only 6 points away from being tied for the SEC #1 spot.

That is AMAZING to me!

They're not in the top 8 because we keep beating them.

Some of you guys must really get off on being negative.

Nah, we just know how this usually plays out.
This board was besides easel's after the 7-1 SEC start and now here we are about to lose our 4th straight once we start playing teams in the top half of the conference.
Exact same thing happened in football.

I mean we're also 9 points away from being 4-8

At this point, it's obvious that we don't quite have the talent to win the SEC yet. That's not anyone's fault; that's just the reality of the situation Bucky stepped into very late into the offseason. Buckyball works, and once he gets his guys into the system, we will be very tough to beat. For now, let's enjoy the ride that is year one.

my expectation for this year has been wonderfully exceeded, I didn't think we'd be at .500 after 8 games..however, i expected a collapse as soon as we were 7-1

We have far exceeded my expectations for the season. I am very happy with how Bucky is doing. I wish we could have beat Alabama and Missouri but I am not crying about it. As others have said, very excited to see Bucky bring in recruits that fit his system with height and length and speed.

Not meaning to open a can of worms, but it's easy to come on a board and say you "expected a collapse as soon as we were 7-1" Feb 14th. Why didn't you post it in November, December and/or January? I see you didn't agree with the hire by your previous posts. Below are your two previous posts regarding Men's Basketball. But why didn't you come on each week at the start of the season and predict failure.

I understand, it is still too early in Bucky's tenure here at TAMU. To hire Bucky based on last year's record was a stretch. HOWEVER, he was the last hire of all the BIG SCHOOLS, and well into the portal play. This took HUGE B@!!S from Trev Alberts. But from your previous posts, there was no hope/trust/belief that he even had a clue, nor should we have given him the chance. Again, it's still early and you may in fact be correct; HOWEVER, for you to come on here in February and state you knew failure was to happen, in hindsight I believe you probably should have thought before you posted, let's let it play out.

I believe Bucky and the players probably realize they're playing with borrowed money. However, I believe they've instilled a little hope/trust/belief in Aggie fans/alumni, given the circumstances.

Again, let's let it play out. I personally believe Bucky's system will work here and will grow roots in the current PORTAL atmosphere as I believe players (on other teams) want to play at a place where they can shoot without a conscience and score points.

When your tallest post player is six (6) inches shorter than, say at least three dudes in the opponent's lineup before the initial jump-ball, you should be the underdog and probably expect the worst. However, we have a legitimate chance to get into the NCAA--THIS, after only have what, one man on the roster when buzz left and Bucky was hire.

Still trying to figure out why this person was hired?
His career win loss record at a small school - "Samford" was 99 and 52.
Does that make him a genius hire?
That is 50 losses for every 100 wins at "Samford" (not Duke) and that's if you give him a win and take away two losses .
Just think what he can do in a much more competitive conference!

Last year at "Samford", the team he was the head coach of didn't make the NCAA Tournament and was a first game loser in the NIT tournament.
Now this year, he wakes up after a year like that and instead of a hotseat at "Samford" the guy is given a much more lucrative upward job undoubtedly for more money at an SEC school.
I don't need to say it because the BOR is so dense, but you know they gave him a "guaranteed" contract too.

What could go wrong, I'm sure that unlike his MOST RECENT resulting year's win/loss record at a small school in an abstract conference, that he will make "Bucky Ball" a household name by not turning Samford around but rather miraculously turning Texas A&M basketball into a juggernaut and winning the SEC championship and going very deep into the NCAA Tournament thereby bypassing the more difficult NIT Tournament that he got kicked out of last year.

No, this reply post is really much more dumb because you obviously can't comprehend that mighty Samford was NOT built into a powerhouse and you refute nothing I posted.

Perhaps you could comment on the success of Bucky's most recent year at Samford where they/he didn't even make the NCAA tournament? Most likely you are actually the wife or partner of a BOR guaranteed contract provider.

My intent was not to know for sure that we would collapse when we hit 7-1, that was just a reference to Texas A&M Athletics in all sports because that is what we do when success comes.....we collapse. My opinion of this coaching hire has not changed. I questioned why we hired someone who didn't set a lower conference basketball program on fire and that type of decision is still puzzling but I cannot argue with the success that Bucky has had because I fully expected a Melvin Watkins record at this point but the team's performance has been a pleasant surprise even though we've gone on a losing streak.

Not in favor of giving a huge extension of contract until an actual conference championship happens but I know that the idea of not paying someone tens of millions of dollars when they don't win even a division of the conference doesn't sit well with most TexAgs faithful.
