My daughter had heard "survive and advance" and "don't give up, don't ever give up" but had never heard the Jimmy V speech. Worth listening to every year if not more, he died 2 months after this event.

600,000 Americans died from X last year.
0 Americans died Y last year.
For X the US government spends 1% of what it spends on Y.
X being cancer (and research)
Y being "defense/war"
This is the completely nonsensical world we live in. And the fact that most Americans don't seem to care about this disparity (effectively brainwashed by the media to somehow/someway believe Y deserves exponentially more than X) shows how far gone we are.
Imagine how fast we could cure cancer instead of 8 billion in cancer research and 800 billion on defense- we spent $400 billion on cancer research and $400 billion on defense?
And- for those who are thoroughly brainwashed on our need for $800 billion in defense spending, $400 billion in defense spending would "still" put us $100 billion ahead of the next biggest defense spending nation.
