I think SMU and Pitt are beatable if we're playing good basketball! Florida State has played one real game but it was a 2 point loss to Florida. The rest have been cupcakes… hopefully we can go beat them on the road and start Friday off right

Most points they have scored against a D1 team since 2022.

FSU game might be 108-105. Pitt appears to be pretty awful, so gotta have that one. SMU has a solid win over Butler, but otherwise don't really know what to expect from them.

This stretch won't make our season, but it has a chance to break it. Really need some solid play over the next two week.

It's just different basketball and only real measurement of success is wins and losses, but having said that we only gave up 84 points 3 times to SEC teams during our conference slate last year

it is kind of impressive to give up 84 and still win by 36

They burned us a bunch on the 3/4 court pass and attacking the rim and we need someone (or 2) that can really get up on a hot 3 pt shooter.

This is just my eyeball opinion, not based on any stats like +/- but we just seem a lot calmer and better coordinated when Lane is in the game. Is it just me? He's also a good defender imo but just not long enough to bother longer armed 3 point shooters.

That game also may have been a bit tighter had they not fouled us so much. We were something like + 20 on free throw margin. Looked it up … + 26 on free throws. 72% of the game margin right there

I was thinking about it this morning. Is Option 1 preferable winning 120-84 or Option 2 at 84-48? Same margin. Not as many buckets for the good guys but fewer for the bad guys?

I suspect it's Aggie DNA to prefer option 2 (see 12 year olds post above) but option 1 was kinda fun to watch excepting Pat Adams and his f-ing whistle. Bucky told us we would get Option 1 but I'm not sure we believed him.

I found it interesting that our shot selection should look a lot like Gonzaga's (except they took too many mid range shots still). I'm looking forward to seeing our results looking like theirs in a year or so

Bucky says every other long interview that he doesn't have the guys to play the way he wants. So to judge him on this roster is goofy, considering 85 of the top 100 portal guys were off the board before we even hired Bucky. He said repeatedly we don't have good 1v1 defenders on defense, and hardly any slashers on offense that can get to the basket north/south like he wants rather than so much east/west to mostly shoot 3's because that's all we're good at.

For a wild card play, Bucky is fine. The wins only come from talent and we already know what we have, but he has the ability to shape them. And even if Buzz chose to stay, where was that headed and given he waited to leave to play the contract who else was available?

You will give it time because that's the only choice. Try to find good in it. Or enjoy it.
