Needs some diversity on the staff. Hope Aggie legend Elston is a great fit.
why do we need diversity? We need someone who can work well with Bucky who is the best at this job. Not necessarily a diverse person

Right….so whatever happened to just not seeing color?
I guess it's ok to see it whenever it doesn't fit your narrative?

I don't care what color ANY of the coaches are. Or players.
I just want the best at what they do, period.

What Aston is saying is most college basketball players are black, and they won't accept an all-white staff because of race.

Amazing this suddenly became the politics board. I have no doubt there is gonna be a Black guy on our staff. There no point debating it. If people want to get holier than though about it on here, whatever...

Please don't turn this into the politics board. That place is so terrible. Changing the subject, I would like to see Elston Turner come back. Excited to see what this staff can do, and hopefully score points for a change.

Got rid of the old white guys in the women's program and got us some diversity. Now the opponent's score and our score is typically very diverse. Sometimes 40 or 50 points

Unless you plan on nabbing Geno or Vic I don't think old white guys are the panacea in today's women's college basketball you picture them to be based on a handful of aging or retired coaches.

Moreover according to this article only around 1/3 of women's college basketball coaches are men.

Since an even smaller fraction of those male coaches would be both old and white, hiring an old white guy would have been the DEI hire, albeit one much more palatable judging by context clues.
