It's not outbid, we just aren't a school great coaches other than football would even consider because old heads don't want to make the marketing changes necessary to make these jobs elite.

The money isn't enough to make a great coach take the hit in ability to attract great players.

It's why the hires are always 2nd tier, because top coaches don't want to be here.

Schloss did then got here and was like why not go to Texas when Texas fixes all it's marketing issues.

Yes, true and expedited Schloss departure (CDC at tu in his ear...with more money, facilities upgrade and larger NIL budget). But, even if CDC wasn't there, Schloss would have left sooner or later as didn't like A&M traditions, culture, not letting he daughter dance, changing baseball traditions nor financial promises on baseball field/team (wasn't enough for him...wanted more than projected dollars). Then throw Trev hire who RIF'd several in the back office and several sitting A&M coaches didn't like the scenario or future direction being told (esp Schloss and Buzz then).

As long as we acknowledge that this all starts with Jimbo being a total failure and Bjork/Board panic extending him when they didn't need to.

Jury still out of Trev (mostly) but he's here to fix a financial problem he didn't create.

They lost to UNT in the NIT but UNT coach was hired away to WVU.

Ole miss has a better athletic program than we do. And they took him when no one else would.

Agree 100%. A $77 million dollar hit has consequences, even for a department with our resources.

What does Ol' Miss' basketball NIL pot look like? No coach will go where the boosters won't pony up several million dollars in the player bidding wars.

Ole miss has a recent baseball natty, basketball just in the sweet 16, and a top 10 football team. They are obviously doing a better job with their money than we are.

Does OlenMiss have a more successful athletic program
Than we do?

Is coaching at ole Miss or here more desirable?

Absolutely they do.

Up and comer incoming imo. High risk… potential high reward . We are going to need to be very patient next year imo because we'll be severely outgunned.
