You're comment was a little over the top for this situation, even if it IS official. We did hire Jimbo, Schloss, even Buzz - all proven winners at others schools so we are sometimes not a "bug".

A&M goes after a coach very publicly, coach gets a raise and further commitment at his current program, we're forced to move on and the hire we do make seems lackluster in comparison for a large portion of our fans, even if it's actually still a good hire.

My God, we truly have the whiniest, most entitled, most delusional fans in all of sports.

Every other coach is supposed to leave every other job to come work for us, because we are the only ones with money. We has all the money. Nobody else has money, because we have all of it. And if any coach doesn't come here it's because our AD is a FAILURE!

We also have the most wonderful supportive fanbase who deserve championships in every sport every year… and will destroy your career if you don't win them immediately.

But at least the arena will be over 80% capacity if a number 1 team comes to town. We will even get the football yell leaders to do some football yells.

What coach wouldn't want to sign up for that?

But anyway, as delusional as our internet fans are, Beard would be a terrible hire.
