Go hire one of their hot shot assistant coaches to be our next head coach.

IF that doesn't work then go hire the "Assistant to the Assistant Head Coach."

If the plan is to hire a hot shot assistant, there is another school with back to back national championships that has a couple of assistants worth looking at.

People should not want an assistant unless they've also previously been a head coach.

We need someone who knows how to build a roster, organize a staff, etc. and we don't really have time for them to learn on the job.

Being good at actually coaching x's and o's is like the third most important thing we need in a new coach.

Have there been any assistants hired that have done well? I would be okay with getting an up and comer. With the way things have turned out so far with Earley, I think we should be able to do better than an assistant. Going from an assistant role to head coach seems like a big step especially for a league that is as good as the SEC was this year.

I agree, but I would also take a chance on only one assistant. And that would be Luke Murray.
