Man I don't know. What's he going to do if Maryland passes? Just walk away from his contract? I agree it's going to be really awkward if he stays, but he might not have a choice.

To my knowledge, he's never said anything publicly. So he can just say it was all a bunch of internet rumors.

Nobody will buy that. It's not just random people on be internet saying he's been trying to get his name out there.

It might be awkward for fans but it's not like he's best buddies with the rest of the athletic department anyway.

I meant the fans. It's never good when the fanbase is against you and I think that would be the case. But sounds like he won't be back so won't matter.

Im still not convinced unless Maryland gets a lot of nos first.

Really not liking the way this is setting up. I'm fine with losing our coach. Not fine with our coach wanting out but having to stay.

Reporting saying Willard to Nova, with an official announcement coming as soon as later today.

Buzz yes, Beard idk. beard will cost more than 5 million/yr, plus 8 million buyout.

Buzz might take less or same pay, buyout is million

You have to think that if Maryland passes on Buzz the AD brings him in and attempts to negotiate a buyout.

I was actually kind of excited for next year. They obviously needed to add some key pieces in the portal.

But now I think the divorce needs to happen even though we will lose guys I was excited to see next year.

Our AD will not do anything if Buzz doesn't find a job. Buzz will be our coach next year. The AD will not pay a buyout.

Now i firmly believe Buzz is looking to go else where. If Buzz is trying to leave our AD will not buy out his contract. Like bcg and turgeon the AD will not fight to keep.them and will let them go easily wolithout trying to keep them but at no cost to A&M.

We will have a couple of good players next year if they stay. I'm not sure they will considering how much talent we have lost even if Buzz stays. We might have some potential talent on the bench and planning on coming here, but potential talent is always a crap shoot. Buzz is probably a better than average coach but in no way can he do what John C did at AR. We will be lucky to win 50% of our games next year.
A new coach could possibly do as well as Buzz.

None of these guys are staying. Maybe McDermott. None of these guys grew up wanting to play ball at A&M. None of them have been here very long to grow this tight connection to the university, except Solo. I think guys like Wade, Coleman,Hefner, Andy and Manny grew to have this connection to A&M. I don't think that's the case for these other guys. I'm completely speculating but I would expect pretty much the next coach to have a bare cupboard if Buzz leaves.

None of these guys are staying. Maybe McDermott. None of these guys grew up wanting to play ball at A&M. I don't think it would necessarily be impossible to keep Solo (still think unlikely) but I see no world Payne would stick around for a new coach that will be rebuilding

My weird take along those lines.

In Denver, we bought tickets from an Ag that had good priority points. We were directly behind the A&M bench for the Michigan game. The seats were actually bad because we couldn't see much and couldn't really watch on the jumbotron, but i digress....


Anyway, the lack of enthusiasm and excitement from the bench guys was weird to say the least. They acted like they were watching a regular season games between two teams they didn't care about.

Just odd that I'm not on the team and I'm jumping up and down and yelling and trying to keep our guys playing hard and their teammates are just meh.

At least those coaches were good and could recruit. Buzz is not good at either.

College basketball is all about the portal now and whoever comes in next is going to need the money to be successful or going to have to find diamond in the rough.

No point arguing with this guy. If you think Buzz accomplished anything at all you're a complacent loser.
