Now that the home season is finished for the year. What can we do to express our frustration with concession cost?

It's gotten ridiculous, $15 for popcorn, $9 for a cold one. Nobody can afford to take their family to an A&M athletic game.

Is it different than literally venue in the country?

Or are you just looking for a place to btch?

F16 is a great place to discuss why the price of corn used in popcorn has gone up.

It does seem like a great way to ensure more butts in seats.

It really is ridiculous. The popcorn quality is bad enough but you can't even buy a small bag for a child. There's one size, a 50 gallon drum. And the ten dollar refillable soda isn't a bad deal at football or baseball where you're gonna be there four hours but for basketball it's not as good of a deal.

The Atlanta Falcons figured out how to do concessions at a reasonable price and their sales went up around 30%.

That's true. Simple economics make it cheap enough that everyone will buy it. I have to limit myself to 3 beers and if they were $6 I'd drink prob eight.

It's truly ridiculous. Sky high prices and horrible quality and selection.

There's probably some algorithm levy uses that tells them exactly how high the price should be so that the number of people who are willing to buy stuff doesn't outpace their ability to serve it.

Where is this stand? They were costing me $14 on Tuesday. Maybe I was mistakingly paying $5 extra for the cheap plastic "souevenir" cup each time.

I don't buy concessions at the game. It's not that long of a game.

We already run out of food and you want them to increase demand?!

It's not even the ridiculous prices… it's after you pay $15.75 for a soda and pretzel

THEY ASK FOR A TIP?!

for handing me a pretzel, an empty cup, point me to napkins across the hall, and direct me to fill my own soda.

Agree with what most are saying. It is expensive and the quality is very poor. The hot dog is one step below a gas station hot dog.

However, this is likely not going to change because people are going to games and buying concessions. The administration is not really concerned about the total fan experience, but rather just the revenue.

This is quite the slight on gas station hot dogs.

Those fancy self-checkout stations (that don't seem to cut down on any labor costs) aren't gonna pay for themselves

I worked the concessions at a TN basketball game (for my nephews team - they have a deal where you make 10% of sales if you volunteer). Popcorn was $5 & $8, a large soda was $8, hot dog was $5 - so, a lot less expensive.
I know a lot about a little, and a little about a lot.

Outsourced so Levy has to get a cut and Tamu gets their commission. I can't imagine how much of a nightmare it was to manage that stuff internally with student groups as the labor. Now the university sees a pure profit revenue stream. I wonder what % Levy pays.

I had special removeable heels to sneak in a deconstructed carpaccio in one shoe, and lobster bisque in the other.

This needs to be transparent to the payers

The primary cause of the pricing is the kickback to A&M that was paid up front by Levys. Similar to the deals on university land for privately constructed dorms that are on leased land that return to the university after the lease ends.

The best way to decrease costs at universities is fire 75% of the administrators. Keep in mind Trump is looking to limit the university's take on research grants to 15% of the total grant, too. There is already a cash crunch in athletics and it's about to hit academics. I suspect the school will combine with the local cities to put in phase a wealth tax on professors once they can't tax research grants directly…

Two pretzel-wrapped sausages, a Twisted Tea for the Mrs., and a Miller Lite for me. With a 15% tip (it was a student org), I dropped $59 at Olsen last night.

That's kinda ridiculous.

The same amount you would have spent at any major college or pro venue in the country.

Multiple pro teams and stadiums are adapting to the Masters model.

Not saying we should start having $2 dogs tomorrow, but in the case of A&M, the problem is not just high prices, but the absolute ****tiest quality food product that can be offered.

This isn't an old man yelling at clouds situation. It has been unacceptable for far too long.

that hot dog is the worst I've had at an event in a long long while.

Also what's the point of those fancy AI registers when each one is attended by a human?
