Was thinking the same thing. Solo is such a disruptor defensively.

Solo will also someday be inducted into the A&M trash talker and annoying the hell out of our opponents hall of fame which helps from the "favorite" aspect.

At 6'4", Britton was the shortest of "The Wall"
At 5'10" Goff certainly had a specific role on that team.

"The Wall" was Woods (6'11") Smith (6'8") , Wright (6' 6" ) and Claude Riley (6'9"). Britton was a shooting guard who ran point when Goff was not. Phelps does reminds me of Britton a bit .

Exactly. Britton was the player that came in so everyone else on the team could get their breathers. I guess I would consider him "Another Brick In The Wall"

Wilcher feels like an odd choice, especially given that he is on the same team as an all-time great role player.

He probably was underutilized as a specialist, but he otherwise doesn't create much on either end of the floor.

I would not have him on my top 5 if it was a list of best instead of favorite, and he'll probably fall off the list quickly once gone. He was nice to my son in person and so I have a soft spot for Wilcher. Hope he goes off and get's a crazy 8/10 from 3 game (or something to that effect) in the next month!

MARTELLUS BENNETT!!!!! Dude could clear out the lane with one swipe of his arm. It was still football season so he hadn't joined the basketball team yet. Walked up to him after a basketball game on a Saturday afternoon to wish him luck in the bowl game. He thanked me and gave me a bro hug. My son said, damn dad, you disappeared.

Qualifications seem all over the board here so not sure what the parameters are here. Does Dexter Dennis qualify? Was only here one season and started 34 games. If so, he's on my list.

I get it. You're right.

It's partially a vibes thing and partially a stats thing so it's hard to have an exact definition but Dennis was definitely a role guy.

It's easier when guys are on teams that definitely had star/feature guys like Dennis did. We've had some teams that were basically all role guys.
