Ladies and Gentleman, did you miss me
I'm back! What better game to be here than one where we host the number 1 team in the country, where we get to honor our seniors, and where we get to see Wade Taylor become the number one scorer in Aggie history. Some things in life are a given: the warm smell of grandma's house on a Saturday morning, the pillow being cool when you flip it over at 3 in the morning, Bobinator and AggieCrew44 ready to school these negative posters, Taylor Swift's albums going #1, people bribing us Buzz and books after we go down 2-0, but one thing that's not a given, is anyone coming into Reed Arena on senior night and walking away with a W. No sir. No ma'am.
Auburn schmaubrn, when you walk into Reed Arena, you're not leaving here without some battle scars and some black eyes. Records out out the window when the ball is tipped. It's us vs them, the 12th man vs the #1 primadonna's. Let's get back to playing physical Aggie basketball and make it a living hell for opposing offenses.
Yes, we're all awake Auburn's number 1. We all know Johni Broome is one of the best in the country. They have an elite group of guards who play tough defense and love to shoot the 3. They have length out on the perimeter. Their starting lineup is 6'4, 6'6, 6'7, 6'10, and 6'11. Their guard rotation of Miles Kelly, Tahaad Pettiford, Denver Jones, and JP Pegues may be the most elite group in the nation.
But everything they do, centers around Johni Broome. The 6'10 forward who averages 18 and 10 along with 3.3 assists and 2.4 blocks a game. This man is elite and can take over a game when needed. We need to try our best to prevent him from getting the ball. His elite rebounding will limit us on the offensive boards so we need to try out best to key on him and box out every possession. Behind him is Chad Baker-Mazarin who averages 13 a game. He plays physical and tries to get in everyone's head. I'm sure some kind works will be said about him on this thread as the game goes on lol.
Wade Taylor needs 25 points to become our school's leading scorer in history. We're all aware that he hasn't been playing his best basketball game, but there's something about Wade Taylor we've witnessed all these years and that's his ability to take over. It's those moments where he heaves up a 3 8 feet behind the line and we say noooooooo but smile as it goes in, it's his floaters that remind you of Tony Parker, it's his fearlessness and swagger that has him 25 points away. Tonight he turns it back on, just wait and see.
The way to beat Auburn is get to the free throw line, disrupt their rhythm. Although they can easily thrive in an ugly physical game, who else plays uglier basketball than us lol. I want to see Bruce Pearl lose his **** on the sidelines. I want to see Auburn in foul trouble, and I want to see Reed Arena rocking. Tonight we honor 8 seniors, Wade Taylor IV, Manny Obaseki, Henry Coleman, Andersson Garcia, Zhuric Phelps, Jace Carter, Hayden Hefner, and CJ Wilcher. We're all aware of this losing streak, but something that gives me hope is that this veteran team, no way they're allowing themselves to go out like this. It's March, a flip has to be switched. Why not tonight, why not us. BTHO auburn
