Ever since Buzz stepped on campus he has purposefully given other teams wide open 3s. Brutal to watch. No adjustments. Most D1 teams have players who can knock them down. So, it's always just a prayer that they miss their wide open threes. His zone doesn't rotate quickly enough and there is "almost always" somebody wide open. Not a consistent strategy to win.
On the flip side- never had a pulse of an offensive strategy.
"But we can't shoot."
"Buzz can't make the shots for them."
Ok sure- you compare your shooting percentage wide open versus heavily guarded. Compare anyone's.
Point guard dribbles around for the first 10-15 seconds. Everyone else stands mostly still. Ineffective screens where our man is not set to alter switches. Maybe 1 whole pass. And our guy out of control tries to attack the rim heavily guarded and hoists up a shot. That's a summary of most of our offensive possessions. Other teams work the ball around and find quality, open looks.
In other words, how we have won this many games- it's more of a statistical anomaly as opposed to something we can sustain in March.
But can't wait for the responses I won't be reading from the lowest basketball IQ supposed experts.
