Ags are 6th seed so ehy would we be placed vs #1 Auburn? Do they place teams by closest region?

I know this is all hypothetical at this point in terms of region placement but those top 4 seeds shown in the south are are the toughest combo of the regions imo

This did highlight the headache the committee is going to have with the bracketing. All of those teams except Duke and St. John's are from three leagues.

Yes, it goes by which region is the closest. Then they add up the total # of the seeds and make adjustments to rebalance if neccessary.
