I don't remember student attendance being so inconsistent in previous years.
So you have Alzheimer's…but the school hasn't cracked the nut on how to equal football support. And likely simply lacks the tools to do so.AggieNattie said:

As dumb as it sounds, Barstool has something to do with it. When Luke Evangelist was the Barstool admin we heard about basketball all the time. New guy sucks, our official basketball account has way lower following than baseball and football on social media, and students barely know about games happening
This. Our advertising of basketball games is atrocious. The average student has no idea games are happening.

I'm a junior now and have been managing social media accounts since I was a freshman in high school. New barstool guy is lazy and I've told him so. But our marketing is absolutely awful, especially for basketball all the way from the top
Student section is completely empty on second deck. I don't get it. We're highly ranked and playing a traditional rival. Reed should be packed.
I graduated in 15 and it was bad then also. It consisted of a little sign in the grass at random places.

We're ranked top ten. We shouldn't even need to advertise to get students here.
Unfortunately people are more inclined to support the circus that goes on across the street every fall and need to be reminded to support a winning team
I live out of state and go to as many games as I can. I am here today and it's so sad. When I was in school we weren't ranked but still had more students show up.
2nd deck east side was almost empty for an 8th ranked team facing a long time nemesis on a Saturday. Not impressive support.

Well, not really. We filled it up a number of x but I think legal capacity was under 9k. Legal capacity was exceeded a few x.

GRW had a capacity of 7,800 not 12,000. It was packed and loud, opposing coaches hated playing there.
Don't get me started. All I've heard on here for years is "win and they will come".

For GenZ yes and Texas A&M students yes. What are the getting out of attending the game? Will going to the game help their status in their socials? Is the game in their social media feeds? Any free stuff for attending?
I only remember one yr that it was pretty consistently packed, 79-80. Fire codes were definitely ignored in several games that season , people were camped in the stairs/aisles. Agree it was loud and the opposing coach's didn't like playing there.

Student support when I was in school 07-11 was much better than today and there was no barstool or Snapchat or Instagram back then.
We did have the battalion then though and that was pretty good at getting the word out.

You were paying attention to other things that presumably had the information about game times and storylines.
That one was easy. Next?
My point is why do students today need marketing, someone to give an engraved invitation? If they are really interest on going to games, they will, they have tons of tools to see schedules. See how easy that was? Next?
