We are a team that plays exceptionally hard, plays well together and plays to its style and strengths. But every team plays very hard in the tourney, which negates a chunk of our advantage.

Eventually we will run up against a team that plays really hard and really well together, and is well-coached, just like us, but is longer and more skilled offensively.

So the real answer as to what it would take to make me think we could win it all is a lot of chaos that takes out more talented teams before we have to play them.

Otherwise, enjoy the ride as long as it lasts. We can slug our way to the elite 8 and will need some breaks after that.

2013 Louisville is a decent comparison. They were lead by two (smaller) guards and a bunch of athletic forwards all the way to a title.

Like others I think our ceiling is Elite Eight. Past that you gotta really think who are the NBA players on our team...

Honestly I thought Andy had the most potential if he were more aggressive with his outside shooting this year

There are probably a handful that could say that, but none can drive their opponent more insane than our D and rebounding.

At the same time, we could shoot 20% FG attempts and 55% FT's and drive us nuts.

Garcia to me definitely has the highest potential to play at the NBA level, as a smothering Rodman style player but a better shot.

Very few people here thought Alex Caruso could play in the NBA. He had Ryan Swope disease.

We have NBA skills all over the court, just nobody with a complete set of them.

The more I watch Payne develop over this season…I could see him perhaps making an NBA roster at some point down the road. There is something there.

Agree Payne has the most NBA potential but he's a little undersized for his position at that level.

I also think our true litmus test for the deep tourney run will be @UF. If we keep that close we are a real contender for a deep run. Blowout means we'd be lucky to get to sweet 16. Win @ Florida and they might have me believing if the stars align right we could take the whole damn thing.

Elite 8 would be huge success especially since it's never been done. Got close in 07 as a 3 seed against 2 seed Memphis.

These next few games will tell us a lot about where we stand going up against top tier teams. Being a 2 seed would help alot.

ALL of these would be required for me to think we had a shot:
- start playing well in both halves of the game on a consistent basis
- everybody is healthy
- take 2 of three from Florida, Auburn, TN
- deep run in SEC tourney

im sorry to say and i'll try to be a little respectful, but i think the biggest thing that could hold us back is, let's say, smart guard play. we have some particular achilles heel that would be hard to believe woukd not cost us a loss in 6 tournament games.

All I can say is it's time to make the Elite 8. A highly experienced team with talent (great, not elite) that plays great together and is well-coached. If it doesn't happen this year, then it tells me we're going to have to load a team with 5 Star talent to break through - and it's hard to see that happening at A&M.

Natty is an extreme long-shot. Could make the Final Four with some luck.

But I do expect Elite 8.

I don't think this team has a ceiling as far as how far it can go.

Seniors all over the floor and a not gonna lose mentality can take you a long way in the tournament

It all just depends on the draw

If we get auburns as our 1 seed and they don't get upset then we may very well end in the elite 8, but anyone else as our 1 and I think we can make a ff for sure, and then anything can happen

I don't like how we match up against Auburn, Duke or Bama (even though we should have beat them shorthanded). Other than those three teams, I would feel pretty good.
