One of their makes was a dunk at the 7:17 mark and the other 3 FGs came after the 4:00 media time out.

Georgia were the Globetrotters in the first half and Washington Generals in the second.

It was always our intention to trail at the half, thus deepening Georgia's eventual humiliation. Also, what game were the refs watching!?

Thry couldn't keep up whistling Sweet Georgia Brown for 40 minutes…

They only scored 4 points the first 12 minutes of the second half.

We are a final 4 team.

We are not the best team in the nation, but the best team in the nation doesn't always win the national championship.

it's almost like we switched jerseys at halftime. we were the generals in the first half and the globetrotters in the 2nd half.

The draws will be critical but the potential for a deep run is there. My concern is the refs have a penchant for swallowing their whistles the deeper you get in the tourney. If we don't get to the line and shoot a decent % from the line we'll struggle with scoring which doesn't bode well against a certain style of opponent.

Seems like we've had more ability to overcome that situation this season than in years past.

We could go to the final 8 or we could lose in the 1st round... Flame away, but that is the reality. I would not want to play us, but if I have to play a #3 seed, I would want to play A&M.

We could still end up a 2 or even 1 seed or a 4 or 5 depending on how things go . Not that anyone has a choice on who they draw but certain styles of teams absolutely would want to match up with us and other certain styles wouldn't .

I absolutely do not agree with your implying the E8 is the ceiling tho if that's what you were implying . We absolutely could lose in the first round and we also could go all the way. Granted , the chances of going all the way are low. Chances of losing in the 1st round as a 1-3 seed are also low.

I can understand that: since we tend to play a lot of close games an upset would seem more possible against us than it would against a more high powered offensive team, but I'll argue that we also win most of those close games and we have the ability to take a team out of their game and make them try and beat us in a fashion they are unaccustomed to

My bigger concern would be the opposite. SEC refs have gotten used to our physicality as well as that of several other SEC squads. They're letting a lot of stuff go that refs we see in the tourney likely won't. I could see this being an issue for us and other SEC teams.

That is indeed a possibility as well. Hasn't been what I have noticed in the tourney in the past but it doesn't necessarily mean it couldn't be the case. We are somewhat of an outlier tho in terms of we are physical but we also draw more fouls than we get called for. I believe at least in part that's because we attack the rim a lot.

I don't get why some folks act like it's a toss up that we could lose in the first round. Obviously wild upsets can happen to anyone but the worst team to beat us this year was a top 70 team on their home court without Phelps.

Other than UCF everyone that's beaten us is at least a bubble team.

Edit: changed everyone to some folks because it's not everyone

The only reffing combination that would kill us is if they call everything down low on the big men, but don't call slashing guards at the FT line.

If the game is called very tight, we have trouble, as too many post fouls on A&M is deadly.

Our team FT% is what it is thanks in large part to Taylor shooting so many FTs at 90% accuracy.
