Those of you who watched Coach Williams' postgame press conference will have noticed he was wearing a Rally for Rhyan t-shirt and also commented on the associated fund raiser. His magnanimous approach to acknowledging other coaches and universities is one of the characteristics many of us find most appealing.
Yesterday's game was special for me because while I received undergraduate and veterinary degrees from Texas A&M and am an ardent Aggie sports fan, I served on the University of Missouri faculty for 13 years. As noted by Coach Williams, this was the 10th annual Rhyan Loos Game https://lnkd.in/eJkd_PKn to increase awareness for pediatric cancer. Rhyan was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma 10 years ago and has done remarkably well with treatment. Her story reminds us of what is important in life and the progress that has been made in managing childhood cancer.
