You think this current roster is Buzz's best team?
Also, 7th in the SEC could be 12-6 or 11-7 and a 4 seed.
Thirdly, if Wade is back quick, there is no issue. But if he's not, we gotta make some tweak or it could be a struggle.

It's not the truth just because you say it is. Why don't we see when Wade comes back or how we adjust these next few games before deciding where we're gonna finish.
This is a team built around one of our all time greats, when you take that piece away it's going to take time to figure things out.
Maybe in some alternate reality with a different coach and a different roster that's not the case, but this team is built around Wade Taylor.

Not bad, for a Football school. Considering we are still paying $75 Million to a Dude to NOT Work...and considering how deep the SEC is this year...not bad.
Honestly, this is still a Very good Aggie Basketball team. I have confidence in Buzz because he has earned it. Unlike our Football team that collapses in November, Buzz gets his kids playing their best at the END of the season.

I wouldn't be surprised if all this happens:
1. We finish no higher than 6th in conference
2. We finish ranked in the top 25
3. We advance to at least the S16
I don't think non college basketball fans appreciate how good the SEC is this year.

How is it a football school? I was 41 the last time we went to a football conference championship game. Now I'm 68.

It is amazing how much stupidity lives on TexAgs. Everyone is an expert and none of our coaches have a clue what they are doing. They all are considered first year junior high coaches from a third world country.
Winning the conference is cool, but aside from that, conference finish is 100% secondary to tournament seed. Depending on the breaks, we're on track for a 3-6 seed, which is great. BTW, to put things in perspective, a number of sports journalists are wondering if this year's SEC is the best college basketball conference EVER. Kentucky is probably the 4th or 5th best team in the conference and they beat presumed 1 seed Duke. Missouri is a middle of the pack team and beat 1-2 seed Kansas. Auburn notched something like 7 OOC quad 1 wins. The entire SEC stomped ass OOC.
On to us: Beating a top 10 team on the road is devilishly hard, so no complaints about last night. I wish we'd made our freakin FTs and nailed Alabama, though. We had a top 5 W in our grasp and we dropped it.

Conference title would be nice but not really that important aside from a banner.
I'd say anything worse than a 5 seed would be a disappointment when viewed through the Buzz' tenure lens. The last two seasons have been his best and most experienced teams -- last year we were a 9 seed. Next year it's not a forgone conclusion we'll take a step back, but it will certainly take a lot of time to gel.
Even Kennedy got it done seeding-wise the year his team was fully experienced. Buzz needs to do so as well, no matter the circumstances.
