And without our leading scorer and assist man. Need him 100% for the stretch run because this team is making the tournament even if he misses a month imo.
If we had made 70% of our 48 free throw attempts, we would have made 7 more free throws and beaten Alabama 95-94. Because of 85 combined free throw attempts, this basketball game took nearly 3 hours. It's crazy how this basketball game ended shortly before the Steelers vs Ravens playoff game, which lasted 168 minutes from 7:12 to 10:00 PM.

Yes he's very important. He's the best on ball defender but you still need more than 1 pt, 2 rebs and 16 mins of action from him.

It's okay to be special. We blew the Houston game in the tourney due to poor free throw shooting. We just blew another opportunity at a significant win because of it.
This teams upside is capped if it is going to continue to half ass the details and fundamentals that matter. And this coaching staff doesn't seem to want to focus on things like this.
Last season at some point Buzz talked about FTs and said the kids shave to shoot 200 a week. That's nothing.
We're going to lose another game that matters, likely in March, because of this.
Maybe. Or maybe we wont. Our best and most prolific free throw shooter was out. Theres always some reason that a team loses a game, and nobody is undefeated

Agree. Also - they missed a crap ton too. Game flow changes with both so hard to tell.

Last night's FT shooting was disappointing, no question about it.
But I don't know how anyone listen to Buzz talk about his process and analytics and say he doesn't care about details/fundamentals.
He's talked a ton about how they've addressed Payne's FT shooting, and something has worked. Dude couldn't hit the broad side of a barn early and he went 15/19 this week.

I was hopeful Wilcher would be good enough defensively to have him as a part of the regular rotation. He just isn't tho. He's a guy to try to bust up a zone defense that we are struggling with or to sub in when we are way behind and need to rain three's down to get back in a game . That's about it.

We were 75% this year in our 11 high major games. Our best FT shooter was out. Wade would've easily scored 30 with how early we were in the bonus.
