You simply can't argue that Buzz teams don't get up for major matchups, we've got hours of basketball to prove it. The problem has always been letting themselves down against teams that they should probably mop the floor with early in the season.

Fortunately so far we've avoided any horrific losses and have done remarkably well against a tough OOC slate. UCF wasn't a great opening result, but I would imagine they'll be at least an NIT team this season and a road loss doesn't hurt too much, likewise Oregon has rapidly risen up the polls themselves.

This squad has done itself a great service claiming great wins early; navigate a brutal conference slate with any success and we'll see a single digit number next to our name on selection Sunday.

Every single Buzz team starts to really gel around mid-conference play. Some are good before then. But that's the point where they start really trusting each other and playing with chemistry. I think this year's team already has most of that chemistry. What excited me, is that we have barely scratched the surface of our potential considering Payne, Phelps, and Wilcher are still working on that chemistry. When it all comes together, this team might do truly special things. Add on a typical Manny back half explosion and watch out.

Given the lack of support for Aggie Basketball, we are INCREDIBLY fortunate to have not just a coach of Buzz's caliber but a leader of young men of his caliber. Man I hope he stays. He's a great fit. "Buzz guys" aren't McDonald's AA one and dones. They are tough, grinding, team oriented guys that to a man leave A&M with an immense gratitude and loyalty to him.

It always feels good to beat those one and one teams. But the reality is that talent doesn't usually fare well in the tournament. A team typically needs that extra sauce that Buzz's teams usually have in order to be win in the tourney.

But you're right, it cannot be emphasized enough how fortunate we are to have Coach Buzz as our coach. I sure hope he doesn't leave, but it wouldn't surprise me if he did.

Observations of those wins

• Boots could really score the ball
• I forgot Hefner had some really good games about 3-4 years ago
• We have ALOT of experience on the team this year.

Regarding a lot of experience, I read somewhere we have the oldest D1 team, maybe of any division.

Why would we let Buzz leave? Ain't happening.

"Let" has nothing to do with it.

BCG and Turge both wanted to go to rabid basketball schools. If Buzz left, it would be for that reason. At Buzz's stage in life, his outlook, and his temperament, this seems less likely. But it is well within the realm of possibility.

How has the company buzz ball not invested in this team?

Buzz would fit in Kentucky or Mayrland just as well as BCG and Turge did.
