It's just insane how much wiggle room the SEC has bought itself this year.

He pretty much had 6-12 as being on the bubble. 7-11 was an 8 seed.
11-7 in conference according to that projection. That would be plenty good enough to get in but I could see a case for doing a little better than that .
A few keys games imo, OU on the road and Tennessee at home , would be games possible to get . OU because I think we are a bad matchup for them . Tennessee because they aren't deep and it's toward the end of a tough conference grind.

Something is seriously wrong with the NET formula when you can gain as much by blowing out ACU as beating Purdue on a neutral / really home court.
Those in charge really need to determine how to weight the opponent so you aren't encouraged to run up the score on mismatches.

11-7 would probably be a 3 seed which would tie our best ever. 12-6 probably a 2 seed or a strong 3.

7-11 is almost going to be guaranteed IN with our metrics. He makes a strong case for 6-12 getting in.

This. Beating Purdue on a neutral court will be worth much more than blowing out ACU by the time the season is over.
Looking at NET before conference play begins is pointless.
I think he's saying 11-7 is the projected conference record if you add up the individual game projections vs. the 10-8 that is written at the top and bottom of the X post. Overall projected record is wrong too...should be 22-9.
That's Exactly what I was saying and yes , that would yield our best seed ever. I think there's a decent shot to beat 11-7 in conference tho.
SEC play is going to break some people, especially the casual basketball fan. They aren't going to be able to handle it
UCF beat Tech today in Lubbock. They are a pretty good team.
Shouldn't break us as A & M hoops fans tho. We go thru the ups and downs every year . Maybe will be more ups than downs this time … and then again maybe not.

Wake Forest won at Syracuse and Creighton squeaked out a home win against St John's. Both results should help us.

Creighton is a net zero i assume since we beat both teams. May have been better for St Johns to win since they were the road team. Don't think it matters much either way though.

New Year's Update
The last 2 SEC nonconference games were played yesterday.
Also, UCF jumped 17 spots (and became a Q1 loss) and Tech dropped 9 spots after the upset in Lubbock.

Heh yeah, lets not count our chickens just yet. 2017-2018 team was absolutely stacked and ranked 5th in the nation heading into conference play. Started 0-5 and lost 7 of our first 9 due to suspensions and injuries.
I hate this mindset! Count those chickens, be excited! Why waste a new year and new basketball season being scared of wanting to win games and hoping for the best! We have high hopes and lose we'll be disappointed, we have low hopes and lose we'll still be disappointed! We have a good team, enjoy it while you can! Looking back it'll suck more being cautious and nervous if we have the year we expect! Just enjoy the ride for as much as you can. Celebrate every win, talk your trash to coworkers, and have some fun!!!!!!
The differences (for the better) between that team and this one are way too many to count. Odd, BAS post.
Could we wet the bed … sure. I don't expect it. Defense , rebounding , experience and depth are pretty solid predictors of success . Even the shooting and shot selection seems to be coming around . Turnovers look like the biggest area to work on. As with any team, injuries could play a role as well.
We are ready to change the narrative!!!
