May be the only time he wins it but Jace Carter dominated the defensive glass in the second half and made the layup to take the lead.

Everyone played better defense in the second half.

Also, shout out to the rims that held it together after a barrage of bricks from the Aggies.

Not sure about y'all, but I've never seen Carter as a net negative when he's on the floor. He may be just a neutral player at times, but I don't think he does anything where I'm saying "Get him off the floor!" Great game from him.

My vote is Coleman because he played with a lot of effort and energy in the first half when that was lacking.

I know it's sexy to hate on Jace Carter and a couple others (and they have deserved it, Carter maybe a bit less than others), but the Carter we got tonight has a place on the floor on this team in every game.

23 min, 5 pts, 9 boards, 4 steals, 1 block, 0 turnovers, 0 fouls

That's a stat line we take every single game. Maybe make a 3 (although he only shot 3) and be a little better from the line, but if he can rebound the basketball, not turn it over and not foul much, that's a really solid role player that should play 20ish min per game.

For me it was Taylor in this game offensively. In the second half he scored 11 on 8 shots and had four assists with no turnovers and really got us going offensively to start the second half and set the tone.

But grading on a curve and a "if not now, when" factor I can see Carter. He had the game that I like from him, rebound, don't be a minus defensively, move the ball on offense and maybe get a couple buckets slashing to the basket.

I also thought Phelps was really good in the second half. 14 on 9 shots with only one turnover and four steals.

His assist totals will need to drastically improve for us to be successful against good competition. He has the ball in his hands way too much to have 3 assists against Ohio St and 1 assist tonight. He did cut down on the turnovers tonight.

Yeah I'm willing to start with just not giving it away but he's gotta pass the ball better when he's driving. You almost can't play him and Manny at the same time because our offense isn't exactly fluid anyway but with those on the court together nothing happens.

But he is still finding it, you can tell he's not all the way there. Tonight we started to run an offensive set with a high screen for him and as soon as Coleman got up there to set it he passed the ball out of it over to Taylor and we had to reset the floor.

Ironically that possession ended up being the one where he got the assist, but it started out poorly.

If I recall, the OG thread was you need to be skilled or be a dawg. Wade is skilled. He's our best player. It's not player of the game. It's dawg of the game. Not skilled but plays tough. IMO, Carter made a huge play that didn't go down as a stat. He jumped over a southern player for a board on a miss and got us possession back after it went out of the player. They had cut it to 6 and would've had possession to cut it to 3/4.

Wade's not a dawg but can still have dawg games. I thought him taking over a bit offensively to start the second half gave us a big spark. That's dawg mentality even if he lacks dawg physicality.
