Payne didn't score much but that's bc they doubled him nearly every time he touched it, and he created offense passing out of it.

He had one really good backside pass out of the double to Wade for a wide open 3.

We had virtually zero post offense last year.

We are also using manny, Phelps, solo, to back the ball down into the post from the wing. I don't think we did this last year either.

Last night's defense was better than our defense was at any point last year imo.

Additional post offense and better defense tell me we have a good chance to be better than last year.

Coleman has been great compared to last year in his play so far. Payne also did a good job distributing the ball once double teamed with at least two assists from swing passes. I think post has greatly improved from the leveque start for the tip and sub out after the first dead ball

The best thing Payne can do is to improve his free throw shooting. He's shooting 41% from the FT line.

Glad Buzz finally listened that we can get a post player that actually can dunk and block shots and stuff rather than take up space and miss dunks.

Solo did back down players from the wing at times last year.

Payne's presence is not only huge by itself but it's also letting us use Garcia/Solo at the 3/4 which obviously makes us a lot better defensively as well.

Really interested in how our offense looks/evolves over the next few weeks.
