Figured I'd start tracking these after each game.

Updated through the Lamar game, in which Taylor overtook Bernard King for second in made three pointers and Dominique Kirk for 7th in assists.

Record watch:

Points:
Current Leader: Bernard King, 1,990
2 - Vernon Smith - 1778
3 - Joseph Jones - 1679
4 - Acie Law IV - 1669
5 - Wade Taylor - 1626 (Taylor passed John Beasley to take #5 in the UCF game)
Current projection: at just 13 ppg so far this season Taylor would not catch King in the regular season, but something tells me Taylor isn't going to avg 13 ppg)

Made Free Throws:
Current Leader: Bernard King - 488
2 - Joseph Jones - 480
3 - Wade Taylor IV - 410
Current projection: Taylor is also way off the pace here, but plenty of time to get cooking

FT Percentage:
Current Leader: Mike Floyd 84.6%
2 - Wade Taylor - 84.5%

Three Pointers:
Current Leader: Josh Carter 299
2 - Wade Taylor (Taylor overtook King against Lamar) - 230
3 - Bernard King
Current Projection: at three made 3s a game, Taylor is on track to overtake Carter sometime in February

Assists:
Current leader: Alex Caruso - 649
2 - David Edwards - 602
3 - King - 550
4 - Law IV - 545
5 - Goff - 535
6 - Holloway - 491
7 - Wade Taylor IV - 385 - Taylor passed Sloan against UCF, Harris against ETAM, and Kirk against Lamar)
8 - Kirk - 382
9 - Harris - 379
10 - Sloan - 370
Current projection: Hot start here, Taylor was never going to threaten the top 3 here, but at over 5 assists a game currently he would project to overtake Goff on the final game of the regular season for fifth.

Steals:
Current Leader: Alex Caruso - 276
2 - David Edwards - 228
3 - Todd Holloway - 208
4 - Dave Goff - 198
5 - Wade Taylor IV - 177
Current projection: starting slow here at 1 steal per game, but projects to pass Goff and finish just behind Holloway

Offensive Rebounds: (This stat is kind of wonky because it wasn't an official stat for a long time, it's not tracked in our media guides, and the CBB reference database only goes back to 2014, but whatever, it'll be fun to see if Garcia chases down Coleman and if either of them get Tyler Davis)
Current leader: Tyler Davis - 324
2 - Kourtney Roberson - 323
3 - Joseph Jones - 309
4 - Bryan Davis - 274
5 - Henry Coleman - 270
6 - Tyrece Radford - 235
7 - Andersson Garcia - 232

Total rebounds:
Won't put the whole list here but just to track how far Coleman and Garcia can go:
Coleman's current projection: 839 (would be 6th all time)
Garcia's current projection: 710 (would be 14th)
(reminder that only their rebounds at Texas A&M count here)

Cool info. Thanks, bobinator.

This does bring back memories, most of them bad lol. Those Bernard King years were pretty dark.

I think Henry stands a chance in setting the offensive rebounds record. Because of COVID, he has 4 years of playing at A&M, right?

I didn't update that one because the offensive rebounds record isn't really the record, but I might check in on where those two are a couple of times during the season and see where they get to on the all-time rebounds record. Offensive rebounds weren't an official stat for a long time, and even since they have been the records I can find on that only go back to 2014.

You're also right, Coleman will have played four full seasons for us so he's going to rank pretty high on the rebounding list. Like I said in the OP he could get all the way to top 6 or so in total rebounds.

Coleman has been an underappreciated player in some ways, mostly because we all kept hoping he'd take one more step forward as a player, but he's been a very solid player for a very long time now.

Can someone check on games played record. Hefner will be the only player to play five seasons with the Aggies. Just wondering what the record is and how close is Hefner

Wade will have played about 42 more games (about 159 games in his career versus 117 for BKing), so it's not surprising that he will break BKIng's record.

BKing averaged 17.8 points per game versus W's 14.9.

I almost think him becoming our first 2,000 point scorer will be more impressive than passing King. But it's still impressive. We've had some pretty solid four year players that couldn't do it.

Our games played record looks like Kourtney Roberson btw. 142 games. Kind of cheating because he got 9 because of a medical redshirt year but Hefner might get there because of a COVID year so I guess it's all fair. Hefner needs to get in almost every game though.

King was the only option on bad teams till Antoine Wright arrived. He was fun in college but I honestly think he basically had Zurich Phelps game on terrible teams that let him shoot as much as he wanted.

King, to date, has been my favorite Aggie Basketball player of all time. He was on some bad teams, but he definitely created his own shots and had to work for everything he got being that he WAS the offense.

Even then he still rarely took Wade Like Bad shots...we all know what I mean by this (30 foot 3's in transition, or at an inopportune time).

King was my era at A&M. Great player, but very much a "this is your team, do what you want" for the majority of his career.

That being said, BK's numbers were better than Wade's.

This actually got a lot easier recently because not only did they finally upload an updated media guide to the website, but it actually finally has all of our career records in it. (Shoutout to the basketball SID Brad)

With 202 steals up next is Todd Holloway with 208. He might catch David Edwards after that at 228 which would only put him behind Caruso whose record is out of reach.

Also worth noting that Henry Coleman is closing in on the top ten in total rebounds. He's currently at 732, he needs 25 more to catch Bryan Davis for #10. Decent shot to get as high as #8.

For Taylor, that 25 point outburst was huge if he's going to take this thing down in the regular season.

My dream would be for it to be during the Auburn game at home.

Wade needs to average about 16.4 points over the next 8 games to break the record against Auburn on senior night, which would be so sick.

He needs to pop off a few more times so that he only needs like 5 points against Auburn and just get it out of the way at the beginning of the game.

Unless he gets hurt again he's almost definitely going to get there. He needs 130 points and we're guaranteed to have 10 more games and practically guaranteed to have 11. He'd have to put up numbers way below his average not to get it.

Plus, let's be honest, it's Wade Taylor, he's going to make sure he gets it. If he doesn't already have it before we close the season at LSU he'll go full Kobe's-last-game and put up 50 shots.

2/10 Update for Taylor:

Points: 1875
Up next: #1 Bernard King: +115

FT%: 85.1% (currently leading Mike Floyd's record by .5%)

Free throws: 468
Up next: #2 Joseph Jones: +12
#1 Bernard King: + 20

Three pointers: 271
Up next: #1 Josh Carter (+28)

Assists: 449
Up next: #6 Todd Holloway (+42)

Steals: 202
Up next: #3 Todd Holloway (+6)

And how about a little 2/10 update for Hank the Tank Coleman: (yes, these are just his stats at A&M)

Points: #23 - 1209
Up next: #22 David Loubeau +6
After that: #21 Randy Knowles +13

Coleman likely cracks the top 20, at 8 points a game if we play 10 more games he likely catches Rudy Woods at #18.

Rebounds: #12 - 748
Up next: #11 - Tyler Davis - 753
After that: #10 - Bryan Davis - 757

At a shade under 6 rebounds a game if we play 10 more games he likely ends up #8 ahead of Jimmie Gilbert and behind Kourtney Roberson

Would be nice if Wade had a couple big games the next 2 weeks so he could break the record at home against Auburn. If my math is right, he needs to average just a shade under 15 ppg to break it and the end of the season against LSU, and like 16.5 ppg to break it against Auburn.
bobinator
How long do you want to ignore this user?
AG
Yeah all he's gotta do is hover around his average to give him a chance in that game.

It would be nice if he could go off a couple of times and get it so that he only needs a couple of buckets early against Auburn instead of going into that game needing like 25 points or something.

He only needs 13 ppg and he'll get there in the LSU game. But yeah, I want to see this thing fall at home
