Obviously the paradigm has shifted in favor of transfers but who do we think can see the floor as a freshman or sophomore? I'd love to watch at least one or two guys play for a few years but I don't see much room in this lineup for any of the younger guys to break through this season.

Does this year guarantee that we use smaller teams as our farm league moving forward? Or, do we anticipate a down cycle while green players grow up?

We've got some youth in the pipeline and some good signees, but next year is probably going to be a down year unless we get some big hits in the portal.

But you can't play young guys that aren't ready just to play them, they can improve better in practice against the older guys than they can in worthless minutes against East Texas A&M or whoever.

We also have some big games coming and a whole bunch of them, we need our top line players up to speed and to know our rotations early. We saw last year what not having depth can do to you in non con.

I certainly don't think the staff is making any mistakes here. The best dudes need to be out there for sure. Plus, you never know when something will click in practice for a kid and all of a sudden a current rotation member becomes obsolete.

Yeah, this was always going to be a tough rotation for a freshman to break into even if these freshmen are better than other recent ones

I think it's interesting that Buzz gave Fish McDermott 9 minutes of PT in our game against East Texas - with one rebound and a putback basket scored.

Might be a particular skillet (he was a rebounding machine in High School) or performance in practice that garnered him the opportunity.

He actually could eventually develop into a Garcia or Solomon sub in the rotation as the year progresses.
