2025 small forward Jasir Rencher commits to Texas A&M basketball

The Texas A&M basketball program made their second addition to their 2025 recruiting class with four-star small forward Jasir Rencher‍ announcing his commitment tonight.

Rencher picked the Aggies over LSU, Oklahoma, Washington and New Mexico.

The top-90 national prospect and top-ten player in the state of California joins fellow four-star Jeremiah Green‍ in Buzz Williams’ 2025 class.

The 6-foot-5 Rencher plays his high school ball for Archbishop Riordan in San Francisco and is the top overall prospect in Northern California. At Archbishop Riordan, Rencher led his team to a 25-5 record last season, including a perfect 14-0 in their West Catholic League on their way to a regional final appearance and fell just two games short of winning the 2024 California state title.

Fresh off visits to LSU and Washington, Rencher decided to lock down his commitment with the Aggies, which speaks volumes to the ability of Williams and his recruiting staff to hold off both a Big Ten and SEC opponent.

The newest Aggie is built for Williams’ system. Rencher is an engaged and physical defender who is willing and able to guard one through five. He is an aggressive contact-seeking driver who can finish through contact and has made significant strides in his 3-point shooting, averaging 41 percent from behind the arc for his AAU team this past summer. Williams found himself a versatile two-way weapon who is still growing as he enters his senior season of high school basketball.

For a veteran program that could lose up to half a dozen players to the NBA Draft and graduation after this season, Texas A&M’s aggressive high school recruiting approach is taking shape in this important 2025 class. Bringing Rencher into the fold gives the Aggies a top-15 class in the country, with potentially more to come.
