Nothing more TexAgs than clicking on a thread where the topic is very plainly laid out in the title just to post that you don't care about it.

Still think we get beat by Ohio State in the next game, but it would have been awesome to find out. That crowd would have been absolutely electric in San Antonio.
yeah, that would have been amazing to see.

that was a damn good team, best I've seen us have in my time as an Aggie.

does it always have to be "best ever" or "best since" or "worst since" or "worst ever"?

and WTF does it matter anyway?

this generation is so bipolar
this has been a sports fan theme for at least 50 years. I mean, they have Halls of Fame for athletes.

JMO

the threads trying to figure out how many we can lose and still get in are also asinine IMO

So why are you on this board in the first place if you're not up for basketball discussion?

HOFs are for exemplar achievement in a sport.

Not to figure out if Lebron is better than Jordan (he's not)

Yes, exemplary achievement meaning best ever.

But, it's most funny you voted on a best ever in your reply after stating WGAS about such a topic and implying only "this generation" (?) would care.

I posted plenty without you having to distort and lie about what I posted.

And BTW... exemplar meaning "among the best", not "the best". After all, when a new person is inducted, they dont kick out someone because they are not "the best" anymore.

Taylor is the only Aggie player that I recall a thread like this being started. so I guess that means it is at least a conversation worthy topic

If you were alive to see Jordan play and make this statement then I have no further need to read any of your posts. It's just asinine. Only person close was Kobe and he's a copycat of MJ. But he did an amazing job at it.

Just to summarize your thoughts shared on this sports discussion forum:

It is not OK to assign best ever, best since, or worst ever, worse since since no one should give a ***** If people care about that, they are a member of this bipolar generation.

It IS ok to assign players as AMONG the best ever, as in a hall of fame, and it IS ok to compare two players from different generations.

Makes perfect sense. Good discussion.

Its ok to post whatever you want within the rules of this establishment. And it's ok to care about whatever you want to care about and post.

But, thank you for illustrating my admittedly a bit hyperbolic point about bipolar by going extreme and mischaracterizing my critique as censorship.

I do think its silly to attempt to assign "ever" awards among players in different generations.

And its ok for me to have that opinion and post about it. And to dispute your opinion about it. And for you to do the same. Why would you think that's not ok? Jump to extremeism?

But lets face it, Shelby was the greatest ever coach A&M EVER had. The numbers dont lie.

Only people under the age of 35 would think LeBron better than Jordan.

Both of those guys were athletic freaks but what separates Jordan from LeBron IMO is how completely he dominated all the other star players in the league at that time. He was the undisputed alpha dog and he clearly took a joy in humbling and destroying any other player in the league who dared dream of beating him.

LeBron was great and a generational player, but didn't ever seem to quite have that level of killer in him.

Kobe IMO came closest to the type of obsessive ruthless personality and talent combination that Jordan had.

I think the best of all time gap between the Jordan vs Lebron is getting shorter. Lebron is doing incredible things at his age that Jordan could never do. Maybe I'd sing a different tune had Jordan stayed in the league [and not gone to baseball], but either way, I would have loved, loved to have seen his Bulls against Olajuwon's Rockets.
