It's Going to be a tough neutral site test on Saturday. Their lock down defense is going to be a challenge. We definitely need to drive more to the bucket and not settle for contested 3's. Better close outs from A&M on defense is a must.

Good game to see some adjustments to the "double up Wade until they figure out how to move the ball" defense.

I believe you have got to want it. That is not what I am seeing. Especially from Wade. Supposed to be player of the year. Come on guys, give us something to root for. Good god.

It's clear Vegas knows we don't want it, otherwise the line would be closer to +7.5.

If you get their super seniors Jwan Roberts and Jamal Shead in foul trouble, they struggle without them on the floor from a leadership standpoint. LJ Cryer and Emmanuel Sharpe are their best shooters and will gladly take open 3's. Not much of a size threat like us, but they have athletic freaks like Javier Francis and Jojo Tugler who both have great wingspans and verticals, they will crash the boards on each side. They both do foul a lot if you get into their bodies, especially the young freshmen Tugler. Sub in mostly guards like Mylik Wilson and Damian Dunn. Dunn is a guy that can get going for a lot of points if you leave him open like Cryer and Sharpe, will take more mid range. They will bring it on defense and love the transition game for layups or spot up 3's. Their offense has had moments where they don't score for good stretches, but they can just as easily go on a huge run if they're hot.

After the Iowa State win, we still doubt this team has a 'want it' fighter mentality? They could have easily quit on that game in Orlando but didn't. I know Memphis game stunk but let's see. Not saying we win today, but I do think more likely than not that A&M at least comes to play and isn't going to look soft. Particularly given they just got punked in their last game.

This is one of those games that is all positive. If Buzz's boys pull off the victory it will be the all important Quad 1 Victory.
Even with a loss it will still go down as a Quad 1 loss. This game against Houston will not hurt in the long run.

The other positive is that we get to see how this team looks against a true contender for the National Title. Right now I have the Houston Cougars as the best team in the state.

We don't have a chance if we don't shoot 35+ % from three imo. If we allow them to pack in their defense and prevent penetration it'll be Virginia all over again.

I highly doubt they'll pack in their defense. That's absolutely not their style.

But they won't extend to cover 3's and that cuts
Off penetration and passing lanes which is what we rely on to generate offense and also can help on the offensive boards .

If Houston isn't pushing out their defense to create pressure then the game has either gone incredibly well or incredibly bad.

Yeah , hoping we can hit open 3's early and can go down the incredibly well path because I don't think our half court offense can be effective otherwise.

If we score more points than them in the 1st and 2nd half we can win this.

Yeah, sometimes games can be pretty simple and I think this one comes down to whether or not they can guard Wade one on one. If they can, either by skill or by his own decision making, we're probably toast.

That and whichever team can keep the other off the the offensive glass better.

Maybe it's just too recent in my memory banks but the on ball defender UVA put on Wade just stifled him and thus our whole attack . I feel like Houston probably has someone like that but I haven't seen them play.

Also very different styles of defense. Virginia's pack line doesn't pressure quite the same way.

I see what you mean now. They are pressuring our guys on the perimeter constantly.

Yeah they're much more a pressure man. Pretty rare these days. Maybe a couple SEC teams will guard us this way. Ole Miss probably one of them.

We figured out how to defend them and made a game of it in the 2nd half. This was a smart game to schedule. Will make us better in conference and shouldn't hurt on the metrics. I don't want to lean on this but we may have won this one with Radford.

Wade was able to penetrate in the 2nd half and that opened up things offensively.

I'm anticipating a good conference season. This team just keeps coming. Wer'e a scorer short of next level tho
