That's about all I really have to say. I can't tell you how happy I am when the "other" sports do well. I love Aggie football...don't get me wrong. But when MBB, WBB, VB, baseball, softball, etc. are doing well, it really gets my Aggie spirit going.

Yea, yea, yea...cool story, brah...I get it.

But I'm Class of '92. I remember Shelby Metcalf saying it's time to get the hell outta Dodge. I remember John Thornton (whose sister was my high school 10th grade English teacher) taking over mid-season. I remember the Kermit Davis "era" well. I remember the Tony Barone fisticuffs in Lubbock. I remember Melvin Watkins rushing the team to the bus without changing clothes and showering in Lubbock. I remember 0-17. I remember what a HUGE deal it was when BCG took the team to the NIT. Beating Louisville - in Rupp Arena - was one of my all-time favorite Aggie sports memories. I remember Turgeon and his whining. I remember feast-or-famine Kennedy.

Regardless of what happens over the next few games, I can't tell you guys how happy I am to see Buzz have this team on the national stage and have us mentioned among the best of the best in the country.

Class of '93, I remember routinely sitting with two of my friends and having the whole section to ourselves at G.Rollie for conference games with no one in any of the other sections around us. I can remember heckling Oliver Miller about losing to UNLV from the stands and the crowd was so non existent we went back and forth with him and non of us were even yelling.

Class of 89. I remember leaving Evans (my stuff on a table), walking to Jolly Rollie, getting my card punched, watching the Ags lose (generally) and being back to the library inside two hours.

Oh and Shelby's wife was my 7th grade English teacher.

I can't wait for Sec play! These guys are already way ahead of last year! This year has the potential to be a lot better than last year!

I remember all that and more. My fish year losing to Louisville in OT in the Sweet 16. Possibly our best team ever. Louisville blew right past every other opponent after that on their way to the National Championship. 'What might have been', and we haven't made it past that point since then, in spite of multiple Sweet 16s with multiple Head Coaches.

So here we are, poised at the beginning of a year with very real potential for bigger things than we've ever seen here. The difference now is that we actually have the real potential to sustain the program at a a very high level/elite status.

How we do in the tourney this week, and the subsequent 4 games will tell the tale of how quickly we get there. I'm REALLY hoping we get Marble back, but if we can get Coleman, Solo, and Garcia to each take their game to the next level, we can achieve excellence without him. Whoever steps into that role of the 2nd post scoring threat will finally allow us to get back to the inside out game and get Radford and 4 to become the 3pt threat they should be all the time.

I have a great deal of faith that Buzz and his staff can put together a game plan to beat anybody we play, if we can execute.

Class of 77 and I remember Coach Metcalf running me out of G Rollie when I would sneak looks at his practices. I remember standing in line outside G Rollie to get good seats and throwing frisbies till the games started.

I remember my friend Billy Clyde reviving our program.

This year's team IS fun to watch.

So the Joe Jones line threw me down a rabbit hole on Bryan Davis. It occurred to me he was no longer a SA and I wondered what happened to him. Apparently 2021 was his last year here. He's now head coach at something called the PSAT (not the test) Academy which seems kinda IMG-ish but virtual.

Anyway - just throwing that out there.

I remember high-fiving Rudy Woods, Claude Riley, Vernon Smith, David Britton, etc when they would walk out after halftime. They were GIANTS to my 7 year old self.

Rudy visited Mrs Metcalf's class. He had on a team USA tshirt and I came up to the bottom of the S.

Dude, they were giants to my 18 years old fish in the Corps self, and I'm 6'2".

Claude Riley was in one of my classes Fall of '80.
