With our first exhibition coming up this weekend, let's go ahead and do this:

Here's last season's prediction thread. Truly some unbelievable correct predictions there, even if we took a really wild route to get to some of them.

2023-24 Predictions:

Overall regular season record (31 games): 25-6
Conference regular season record: 14-4
Postseason tournament? Which one? Seed: NCAA's, 3 seed
Conference champion: Tennessee, by a game over us
National champion: Purdue

The stat other than score, turnovers, and free throw and three-point percentage that you're watching early in the season is: block percentage against, we were absolutely horrible at this last year, getting more than 10% of our shots blocked. Our ability to score in the paint is going to be the difference between this team being good and this team being great, and this should be a key indicator early along with our 2pt% (also bad last year.)

Bold predictions:
Taylor IV becomes our second consensus All-American (Law IV)
We won't have any Q4 losses and we go undefeated at home
Solo will be one of our best 3-4 or so players by the end of the season, but won't start that way

Yep. There's a 1 or 2 seed. And there is the 2-5 seed downgrade for Texas A&M.

Marble was our 4th leading scorer and 5th leading rebounder, shot at the highest clip from the field but by far worst from the stripe - we'll be ok.


Mostly joking, but I do believe even the worst case scenario some seem to be jumping to - which is very unlikely - wouldn't be the end of the world by any means.

Also, Buzz said Marble "wasn't allowed" to be with the team, makes me think it's gotta be either some sort of eligibility issue or a Title IX issue.

I just need to see Manny live up to the hype. He has these flashes of greatness then long stretches where he looks like a role player off the bench. I expect him to a big step forward this year.

More of a hope than expectation I guess. Also this Marble business has me worried.

Not being able to talk about it = eligibility issue to me. Probably a credit that didn't transfer over properly. He's a Jesuit grad so I doubt he is failing anything. Likely has to take care of his business to be eligible by the spring semester.

A transfer credit issue wouldn't pop up now. He's been here over a year.
