Looks like some smoke for him to land here. Would be a very solid start to our transfer class.
I'll take him.Hop said:
The key here is to see his stats later in the season. As a true freshman, he evolved into UMass' best player by the end of the season. He started the last seven games of the year and was surging. Hit nearly 40% from 3-point line and he's a good, disruptive defender.
He would be a very nice get if he announces to A&M.
Those Boston winters are rough on a kid from Miami.frenchtoast said:
Why would he leave a hall of fame coach?

Call him Ray J and the sec defenses are Kim Kardashian.

BUT IS HE A DAWG?
You have to be able to identify a DAWG before we take a commitment from them.bobinator said:
This is crap. DAWG has to be predictive.
UMass transfer RJ Luis tells me that he will visit Louisville on Wednesday and Thursday.

"Now it's a guessing game," Martin said. "We get out of bed every day we might get a phone call, say, 'Hey, I've been talking to my people' I don't even know who 'my people' are anymore 'and I think I'm going to explore my options.' We're being held hostage.
"There are coaches out there … [who] call me asking me for advice that players come in and say, 'Hey, the best NIL deal I got on this campus is, whatever the number is, I'm going to put my name [in the portal] to see what better deals for me out there.' Are you kidding me? Like really? It has nothing to do with unhappiness or lack of success, it's just that we've created that moment. So as coaches it's hard to predict our rosters."
I don't really blame him, but also see both sides. You take a chance on a lower level recruit, develop him, he ends up being pretty damn good, and the player just leaves with basically nothing in return for your own teamSeven Costanza said:

He'd be worth nothing if UMASS and Frank Martin hadn't taken a chance on him. I think that's the whole pointKnow Your Enemy said:
So, wait. You're telling me a player wants to get what they're worth?! WHAT THE HELL?!
The same coaches crying about this would jump to a different school for a better opportunity in a heartbeat. It's hypocritical.

I mean if he had just not played college basketball as an alternative to attending UMASS last year I doubt we'd be recruiting him. So Frank Martin and UMass is the only reason he's worth something? GTFOH with that nonsense.
