SIAP... looks like commit Rob Dockery and recruit Eli DeLaurier (6'9) are playing on same AAU team.

https://www.on3.com/news/southern-jam-fest-first-team-all-class-of-2024/
Quote:

6-9 PF Eli Delaurier, Team Loaded VA 3SSB 16u

Eli DeLaurier's mom (then C'ta Mitchelson) starred at Rutgers, and his brother (Javin) starred at Duke. It should not surprise anyone that the youngest brother is becoming a high-level recruit. DeLaurier helped lead his team to the 16u championship game. His hard work is what allows his production, but knocking down multiple threes and throwing down big dunks in traffic certainly support the cause. DeLaurier is tough on the boards, walls up well on defense, and is an offensive threat. Still growing into his body, he is shaping up as a national-level type recruit.
Recruitment: Claimed offers from Texas A&M, Mississippi State, West Virginia, etc.

Interview from Saturday,l May 20, 2023... Eli mentions A&M still in top 3...

playing on the same AAU team this summer.

Thanks for those updates!!! I wrote the note below before I saw the Tyrone Riley news added to the post regarding Eli DeLaurier.

Eli is one of the two guys that another site had listed as "warm" towards Texas Aggie recruiting.

In spite of the fact we have three commits already for 2024, would be awesome if we could close the deal on Eli and on the other notable target, California SF Tyrone Riley - who is still leaning toward an Aggie commitment based on the last update.

Already ranked as 12th best recruiting class for 2024 on that other site, signing those other two guys would make it likely that the Aggies finish with a top 20, even top 15 recruiting class in the end - possibly the best group of fish that we have had since the glory recruiting days of BK and Rick Stansbury.

Maybe it took a minute for the other site to update the team rankings, but the Ags are #3 in 2024.

I noticed Turkson was actually #55 nationally back in April 2022, but slid and is now slowly climbing the composite rankings.

Wow! I know it is early - but that ranking validates the fact that Buzz and company are apparently reaping what they have sewn in terms of positive vibes regarding our Aggie MBB program and the character and quality of our coaches and our team.

I hope we can hold this 2024 recruiting class together and close the deal on those two other kids we have been discussing.

Big cigars got burned two years ago thanks to Jimbo. They need results first

There is no substantiation for anything you said.

Agreed. Just common sense

Umm…if you made it up…then calling it sensible or common is also making it up.

Tyrone Riley update. The 6-foot-6 junior guard averaged 25.6 points, 12.5 rebounds, 4.7 assists, and 2.5 steals per game.

The 6'6 SF from Downey, CA is ranked 91st nationally and is starting to receive interest from Bobby Hurley and Arizona State. He plans on committing in September or October.

However, here are the five schools he's heard from most:

Tyrone Riley did not play this weekend for St. Pius X-St. Mattias Academy but he told 247Sports he is in the process of dwindling things down within his recruitment.

While he says a list cut is not likely to take place until July, Riley says LSU, Saint Mary's, San Francisco, Texas A&M, and USC are the programs he is focusing on at the moment.

"Those are the schools I am talking to a lot right now," Riley said. "It is based on heavy interest. I have been hearing from other schools that have been interested for a while but I am waiting to see what is going to happen after this summer."

Quote:

Texas A&M: "The coaching staff loves me. They showed that they are really interested in me by getting me down there early. They did not do that often with many kids in my class. Me being one of them meant a lot. They showed me a lot of love and still check in."

Thanks for that update.

Excited about this incoming class for 2024! If we can hold on to current commits and add Riley and DeLaurier - could contend as potentially best overall recruiting class ever - certainly best since the incoming Class of 2015...

Eli just signed with Overtime Elite. He is remaining an amateur. Not sure if Aggies on still on the radar.

He was pretty high on the Aggies earlier in the year.

Not sure how accurate it is, but another site has Mississippi State, Virginia Tech and Texas A&M as the three top choices he is considering at this moment.

Again, if we can add this guy and Riley to the class of three commits we already have, this would be a special recruiting class - likely top ten in the nation.
