But being angry does nothing and isn't worth my time.

So instead, for those of you who watch all the non-SEC basketball, what's the scouting report on Penn State? Seems like they're on a hot run to make it into the tournament. Lost to Purdue today in a close one. Are they a good matchup for us/how we like to play?

Well coached, can't remember his name but he was with Matt painter at Purdue for a while.

Think I read their guard play is good but don't remember much else.

Going to be a really tough game. Shoot the 3 well & not a team that fouls much.

They are below average athletically for a power 6 school and are not very good at rebounding in the few games I saw them play. They mostly run their offense through Pickett and Funk.

I think we matchup extremely well, although they did just play Purdue very well.

ETA that they are much worse at rebounding then I thought, they rank 305th in rebounds per game at just 32.1. We rank 72 at 36.8.
We are also ranked 34th in rebound margin per game at 4, while they are ranked 304th at -2

They are pretty small. We should be able to control the boards which will help us control the tempo of the game. They have some players and can shoot the 3; however, they aren't overly athletic which we really tend to struggle with. I think we match up pretty well to be honest outside of the fact that they are hot right now.

Guys, we are a pretty good team. We can beat both of these ****ing teams. Our defense throws teams off their game. We can dirty this game up & go to work.

It's an extremely tough match-up for a 1st round game.

I think Ags should win but most likely will go down to the wire. Then win that game and play a very good Texas team.

Total screw job on the seeding. But just win 1 game at a time.

IMO they are as bad a matchup for us as Missouri was. We got about that good a chance of beating a team like Penn State.

Because seriously...when you say you are facing a team that is very good on offense particularly shooting the three, but has much poorer defensive efficiency numbers compared to offense, not good at rebounding, and is not particularly athletic...who in the SEC best comparison...is that not Mizzou?

They play small ball and have zero big guys playing more than 20 minutes a game, we can run more man and easily over power them! We will offensive rebound the hell out of them and it won't be close! They are a horrible rebounding team, their top rebounders are all guards! Marble and Coleman both have a double double and you babies crying will shut up

We'll see about that, our aggressive play forces a lot of turnovers and fouls. Alabama beat us because they are as athletic as we are and much taller. If Penn State is not both of those things then I like our chances.

This is an easy match up for us, we will out rebound them by over 20 and score in the paint with ease, not worried at all

39% from three. Keep them under that and I think we will be fine.

If they "never foul", Ags will be shooting layups. Good matchup; b10 overrated. PState no length nor lateral quickness. Now, tu different story, but it's the NC 2 A's.

If the don't foul much we'll be able to get to the rim uncontested.

Bad matchup for us if we try to play the same fall back zone defense we've run in a lot of games this year. I don't think we will, but if we do they will light us up from beyond the arc.

They shoot 49% of their shots from the three-point line. Very much a live by the three and die by the three team.

They do not turn the ball over, I think they are something like 4th in the country in fewest turnovers. I do not know much about the Big Ten this year in terms of defensive style or overall skill. Other than Purdue I think it's kind of a down year.

Ags are favored in Vegas. Not sure where this comes from.

We struggled today but that's because Bama also has a presence inside. This sounds more comparable to Mizzou or Vandy and we defended the 3 very well against them. On top of that, we play better against tougher opponents (remember Ole Miss?). I'm sure PSU will be a tough game but I have confidence in this team and coaching staff.

I'd rather shower at Penn state than go to tu.

Their top six scorers are guards and top two are 6'4" and 6'6".

They aren't super long and super athletics, so that is great.

they are a b10 team. you have to grade all their stats on a curve. this aint the intimidating matchup you think it is

Yall sittin there acting like buzz wont adjust our defense. I think we give up so many 3s bc of our lack of length so we fall back. Penn st has no length that will give us the freedom to be on their arses.

They remind me a lot of Vanderbilt with less size.

They do a great job of spacing the floor. They run a lot of 5 out looks where they will manipulate the defense into a 1 on 1, 2 on 2, or 3 on 3, look.

Ags will need to be disciplined and stay true to their assignment while still playing help defense. They like to run cutters away and then drive the open space.

On defense, they do not tend to even try to get offensive boards. Many times drop people back in transition to force teams to play 5 on 5. We don't run much so should not matter.

We should dominate inside offensively and get open looks outside because of it. Just have to be able to knock them down and get our offensive rebounds like we normally do and it should not be too close of a game.

They do not get a lot of steals on defense nor do they lose many possessions on offense..

I think we win by at least 10.

Not sure where that came from. We're a 3 pt favorite, and Michigan state is a 2 pt favorite. Missouri and northwestern both very slight dogs.
