I've heard Buzz refer in several interviews to his idea of dividing the 18 game conference schedule into three six-game segments or laps.
This allowed the coaches and the team to almost accept a single loss from each lap and simply move on - with the idea that going 5-1 for each of the three laps would get them right where they wanted to be - and where they are now: 15-3.
Note that within each six-game lap the single loss occurred at different points - in game 6 of the first lap (at Kentucky), game 3 of the second lap (at Arkansas) and game 4 of the third lap (at Mississippi State). Of course, in all of those instances after a loss - there were more games to be played.
Now, of course we all would like them to just win their next 9 games starting tomorrow night - but I think this team would almost be better off (and more dangerous in the NCAAT) if they took on that same "six-game lap" mentality into their initial post-season segment - where they just needed to go 5-1 again if they happen to lose a game during the SECT.
That would put them DEEP into the NCAAT (at least the second weekend) before finishing this next 5-1 lap - depending on whether their SECT loss occurred Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
Then, of course, they could just win the next game or two or three to win the whole thing!
However, if the Aggies do go on to win the SECT - going 3-0 this weekend - then I reserve the right to eliminate any thoughts of another 5-1 six-game lap in this post-season - as I would prefer they just keep winning.
BTHO the post-season!!!
