Nobody there nor Brandon Miller himself apparently ever thought being 'patted down' during announcements might be a bad look….it took a social media outcry for them to stop doing that. mind boggling how poorly they have handled this simply from a PR standpoint alone.

And either a) Bama/Oats didn't know the detail about the gun in Miller's car until a few days ago when that became public, which means their player kept that to himself screwing them over (but since he is a star they can only say Thanks Brandon For Letting Us Get Surprised By That! ), or b) they knew but decided it was better to keep that on the low low for as long as possible and just let that become public eventually then react instead of trying to get ahead of the story.

Gimme Stephen A smith and Kellerman over Whitlock. I like guys that see racism in everything and just follow the mainstream narrative.

It's the "occasionally" part where this argument goes off track.

I watched it.

For the first 55 minutes or so, Whitlock presents a thorough, thoughtful, researched, pretty well reasoned examination of the currently known facts. He takes great pains to provide relevant context and draws on his own experiences. He presents a pretty powerful and more considered and patient counterpoint to Clay Travis firing off hot take tweets from the hip.

For 55 minutes Whitlock takes a grave and serious topic and does it justice

The last 10 minutes he starts to go down a road that ends up with him hawking a rally he's organizing to bring men back to God. There's a lot of good in being pro-two-parent households, pro-men proving their manhood by being positive, God-fearing fathers who take personal responsibility and lead their families well… as opposed to proving one's "manhood" by being "street tough". But the final 10 minutes left me feeling like he's trying to sell me something.

This whole think piece would've been better had he stopped it at 55 minutes.

Bomani Jones is a dip**** and an overt racist. Hilarious to think he's smart. A little embarrassed for you. Also, he hates A&M and like every other "educated" (read indoctrinated) dip**** he contorts all facts to fit his worldview.

I agree with Whitlock's takes a fair amount of the time. I've also followed him for years and years. His most recent character change seemed conveniently timed with the political winds, he was studying Clay Travis' own character change and the lucrative success it was bringing him, and also because he was running out of traditional media options who wanted to deal with him.
