Buzz Williams previews trip to the coast for Myrtle Beach Invitational

Buzz William's 2022-23 squad embarks on their first journey on the road as they head to Conway, S.C. Williams joins Monday morning's edition of TexAgs Radio to discuss what he wants to see from his group from their three-game outing. 

Key notes from Buzz William's interview

• I thought we had good week last week. Did good things in both games. Things that were not good happened in both games. In early season, you are trying to figure things out. This is a big week for our season. This will be good. Our guys and staff are excited about it. 
   
• ACU is a really good program. Their style of play is distinct. They are very psychical. We anticipated live ball turnovers. We were better in the second half than the first. We shot the ball at a high clip. Henry Coleman was dominant on the glass. I thought Andersson Garcia played his best game, and Solomon Washington was tremendous. Wade Taylor made some timely baskets. We have to play with a lower turnover rate regardless of who the opponent is. Some of it is careless, but we need to make it a priority.
   
• When Mississippi State played here, that game would have made us 9-9 and win number 20. Garcia had 14 points and seven rebounds that game. I did not know him, but I helped Steve Roccaforte with what my evaluation was. Devin Johnson has known Dexter Dennis since he was in high school when we were at Virginia Tech. Dexter is the best listener other than Nickeil Alexander-Walker that I've ever coached. It is an elite skill. For Garcia, English is not his first language but if there is a comedian who can switch between English and Spanish, he could make millions. He is hilarious. Most of the new guys are gaining traction in the rhythm and routine we have. Both of those guys will be important pieces to what we do.
   
• It will be good that we are together for five days at the Myrtle Beach Invitational. Less distraction and interruptions. It will be a great opportunity for our program.
