Normally I try to wait until a week before if nobody has already done it, but I'm too hyped for this season so let's do it. I'm sure Marc will chicken out because of "lack of data" and "what is even the point this is stupid" or whatever, but for those of us willing to be boldly wrong, let's do it.

Our overall regular season record: 23-8
Our Conference record: 12-6
Postseason tournament? Which one? Seed?: NCAA's, 5
SEC Champion: Tennessee
National Champion: Houston

Three bold predictions: (or however many you want to make)

- We finish in the top half of college basketball in 3 pt% - We haven't done this since 2015 and we've only done it 3 times in the last 15 years. I like our roster's ability to create space and get good looks. Not enough truly good shooters to say we'll be good at this, but top half is doable.

- We beat either Arkansas or Tennessee at Reed - Haven't had a big home win under Buzz yet, we're getting one of these this year

- We have a first-team all SEC player - Only had a few of these on either the coaches or AP since we joined the league. Our last one was Tyler Davis in 2018 (coaches). Others: Jalen Jones (both in 2016), Danuel House (coaches, 2015), Elston Turner (coaches, 2013). I like Coleman or Radford to make a go at it this year.

Last year's prediction thread, though only like five people actually gave some predictions. Not bad!

Ok here are some predictions.

SEC Record
After looking at the schedule I think we go 11-7

SEC Champ
Kentucky wins the SEC with their play in the paint.

Bold predictions
Gonzaga wins the national championship. That might not be too bold, but they beat TCU in that championship game. That's bold.

Dexter Dennis is the top guy on this team. Not necessarily top scorer, but he is going to be that dude for this team and who people talk about when they talk about A&M.

We beat Arkansas by at least 15 once this year

Defense leads the Ags to a Sweet 16

Haven't thought much about basketball since before the summer but here it goes:
Our overall regular season record: 25-6 (I think we take the big home games at the end vs Tenn and vs Ark)
Our Conference record: 14-4, winning every game after Georgia at home
Postseason tournament? Which one? Seed?: NCAA's, 4
SEC Champion: Arkansas
National Champion: Gonzaga

Three bold predictions: (or however many you want to make)

- Obaseki finishes on All-SEC Defense first Team

- We have 8 players average over 8 ppg

- We finish in the AP top 15 - I think we kill it down the stretch once every transfer on the team is acclimated and the returning guys establish themselves in new roles. I anticipate starting slow but still winning games with our OOC schedule, having a rough late January, and then winning 10+ in a row including the conference tournament

- All Texas final in Houston - I'm not gonna pick the teams, but between these....lets Lone State Showdown the final @ NRG ....Houston, Texas, Baylor, TCU, A&M, or Tech.


-Auburn misses NCAA Tournament. Dumb shots, erratic play....no Walker Kessler and no Jabari. Back to reality for the Tiges.

-LSU gets NCAA sanctions - At this point I think that's my boldest prediction yet. Will it be bad? No. Will they miss a recruiting visit? Maybe.

Aggies blow out Kentucky at Rupp in front of the entire country on ESPN, moves Aggies into the top 15 in the AP rankings. Coleman, Marble, and our pesky 1-3-1 zone rattles Tshiebwe

Only 5 SEC teams make the tournament: Tennessee, Arkansas, Kentucky, Texas A&M, Alabama

Aggies will somehow face tu in the sweet 16

We beat Memphis but drop one to Wofford, Oregon State, or SMU

I will at some point compare the duo of Coleman and Marble to David Robinson and Tim Duncan

Towel boy ruins a fast break once again furthering himself into Aggie lore

We will go 1-20 in one game from 3

Disclaimer: I didn't really do any research. But when I make NCAA tourney picks and "research", my picks turn out horrible, so why bother?

Our overall regular season record: 24 - 6 -- Bold prediction, one game gets rained out.
Our Conference record: 13-5
Postseason tournament? Which one? Seed?: NCAA's, 3 seed
SEC Champion: Kentucky
National Champion: Fightin Texas Aggies

Three bold predictions: (or however many you want to make)

- We finish in the top 10 of college basketball in forced jump balls - The more I watch JH girls play basketball, the more I realize how important it is to force jump balls. That's like a half of a steal each instance.

- We beat BOTH Arkansas and Tennessee at Reed - Haven't had a big home win under Buzz yet, we're getting BOTH of these this year

- We are going to beat North Carolina in the tourney again this year - Might as well make a habit of sending this blue blood home early. NC will be a 6 seed.

I started listening to these guys late last year for hoops and IMO they are pretty good. SEC basketball focused and clearly watch a ton of games.

They have also been doing individual team reviews recently in their Videos list but haven't done A&M yet. They've done Kentucky, Arky, Auburn, and Tenn thus far.

Cliff Notes Version of the Above, they have A&M in a tier that puts it about 5th-6th in the conference.

That's the tough pill to swallow after what happened last year. We were good enough to make the tournament and you better believe we would have made some noise. It kind of reminds me of D-Ro's eligibility and last second non-call against UCLA. Those are hard to forget simply because we have had limited post season success.
The conversations will be uncomfortable, but we all have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable for progress to be made.

With defensive-minded coaching and good guard play (especially on-ball defense) that can happen any time.

Hello basketball board, I am back from my offseason sabbatical in which I remind those around me at Kyle Field how much more money the football program demands to be as similarly mediocre as it's lovable brother on the other side of the train tracks in Reed. I'll take the soviet brutalist architecture facade of Reed Arena over whatever the hell they turned Spence Park into any day.

My Bold prediction:
I buy cheap second deck season tickets and still manage to sit in the lower bowl more times than my actual seats.

My italicized prediction:
I make jokes on TexAgs about videos of Buzz's speeches while simultaneously loving them and their life lessons
