That A&M got the #1 recruiting class in football and SEC domination over the other conference in football

A. Wanted to help make sure this didn't spill over into basketball
B. Payback for buying our football recruits ( we know it wasn't about the money but the people involved sure think so)
C. Also snub at the SEC… (Baylor a #1 over Auburn, Kentucky or Tenn?)

This IMO has nothing to do with how well we played down the stretch or the team's 8 game losing streak
Everything to do with payback or revenge or keeping the SEC down.

They clearly knew that they were only going to give the SEC 6 spots in the tournament

6 at large yes, if we had won today there would be 7 SEC teams in the tournament.

Their is concern that the money in the SEC will take over basketball also. The conference is improving each year

I can maybe buy into SEC bias. I think there are many in college athletics that would like to stick it to the SEC when and where they can. The SEC stirred up conference realignment again and has made it increasingly difficult for smaller schools to compete.

I don't agree. They would have just removed Alabama from the tournament and put A&M in that spot. I don't think they were giving the sec 7 spots no matter what happened.

A&M has a legit argument to have been included over Alabama as it is.

If we spent $30mm on our football recruits, what are we allowed to spend on basketball recruits?

Been saying that for the past few days when people still had us out after beating Auburn. Response from most was that's not how it works. Same with the 8 game losing streak. Well there has to be some reason we were left out because from all of the objective criteria we are in all day.

Yeah football recruiting ain't why the basketball team got left out. Our that ESPN hates A&M. Or that the SEC wants A&M out of the league. Screwings happen in this tourney. It was just A&M turn.

-Let's start with the exact premise of this thread. "The basketball committee looked at our football recruiting class, and decided to punish our basketball team OUT OF JEALOUSY.

I should just stop there, but I'll go on.

-The SEC commissioner "did not use enough of his influence" to get us in, as if this isn't the 2nd biggest revenue generator in this league, which is directly tied to his compensation, and also the prestige of his league he's trying to make top tier.

-Our AD somehow could have done more to get us in, but didn't, bc I guess like we expect Ross to give blowjobs to get it done?!?! And for $1M/yr, Ross should be giving blowjobs to get it done?!!?

-Also Joe Lunardi. Joe works for ESPN, who has it out for us, bc of the LHN. So Joe is dictated by ESPN to help keep us out. Which is weird, because, the SEC is in bed with ESPN, but if we're out, a team like Michigan is in. And the Big10 is NOT in bed with ESPN, but anyway, LHN said so. So Lunardi, who works for ESPN, that doesn't have rights to air a single March Madness game, is like influencing the committee. It's not like he's trying to guess the committee, or has insider information, it's like the committee is so clueless on what to do, they just follow Lunardi. Who hates us. Bc he works for ESPN, and also is just himself.

Alabama is a 6 seed, they were safely in no matter what.

I think it truly is as simple as the committee didn't value the conference tournaments at all after around Thursday.

Tennessee and VT's seeding make no sense considering their dominance in their conference tournaments.
Us getting left out makes no sense.
Auburn staying as the top 2 seed makes no sense.
Across the board it is clear that they do not value the conference tournaments for one reason or another.

I'm disappointed and pissed, but let's not start creating conspiracy theories out of thin air. This one is bananas.
