If I was a senior on this team that just had my last chance at the tourney stripped away, I would appreciate my AD stepping up in defense.

Your pragmatism is really noble, but these seniors aren't going to have this "work harder and get'em next year opportunity.

They may be happy for the chance to get on the court with their mates and play a few more games, but it's not the same.

Bjork isn't doing anything. He's too busy pushing social agenda items.

I get that. But the seniors understand what it is. It sucks, but it's done. They also played during the 8 game losing streak, so they understand what is going on. Are you saying you don't think the seniors will give 1,000% for their last chance to play? They will continue to give it all for this team, and for what is best for this program, just as they have all along. I'm sure you agree with that.

All I'm saying is the AD publicly crying foul isn't going to change their fate, nor make them play harder (we both agree they play for their coach and brothers in the trenches). It isn't going it generate a response from the NCAA either. There is literally no upside that I see, internally or externally. There is quite a bit of downside, primarily being a distraction to the work that is left to be done this year. And it would be taking focus off of what they did earn- the right to keep playing in a tournament .

And therein lies the problem. What the committee has effectively stated, is after losing those two games, the season was over and there was nothing at all that justified making any effort whatsoever from that point forward.

That is a horrible and wrong take that demonstrates that the committee failed miserably in following their own set guidelines.

He's not saying the season was effectively over after those two losses, but that coupled with an 8 game losing streak certainly put us at an extreme disadvantage we ultimately could not overcome even with our incredible late season run.

Gap wasn't saying it, but the committee sure was. That was my point. The 8 game streak with 2 bad losses sealed it for the committee.

Thus, their "body of work" BS was just that.

If I have to explain how losing 8 games in a row is different than winning 7 games in a row, then you need to be on the committee.

If you want to address the real reason neither the NCAA nor the SEC fights hard for us, pack neutral site abd road venues.

The words you're probably looking for are "expend leverage", but you have to have leverage to expend it.

Scott Woodward would have just asked the committee how much we could possibly pay for a bid, and found some way to get the check written. Or written the check, then bounced before it had to clear. Bc that's literally about the only difference, is Scott just bought everything, and talked to reporters via leaks rather than loving an on-air microphone.

From Bjork's interview, sounds like they will be drafting a formal complaint and demand for explanation. Course, isn't going to change anything.

And he announced free entrance (no ticket fee) to the NIT game tomorrow night.

He's doing the right thing if they go that route.

I think the complaint needs to be very public though, not just for our sake, but for the next team that gets screwed this bad (if that ever happens). Bjork talked about transparency, and public is how you give it transparency, working for clear answers behind closed doors won't expose the obvious problems.

Maybe it's as simple as this group of committee members were just incompetent. If that's the case, they should never serve again.

We'll see, we all know it won't change who plays on Thurs/Fri, but it's still worth pursuing.

I agree. The conference tournament is pointless. If we don't want to reward a single weekend, why let a team get an auto bid by winning their tournament? The whole system is pretty stupid when you think about it.
