Time for our AD to step up.

Where is our AD on this? They need to very publicly draft a written demand, posting the Notre Dame and Rutgers full body of work committee metrics, for an explanation of this determination.

The committee will not respond and we should continue to demand the explanation.

We owe it to the kids and we have the financial resources and clout to push the claim. Force them to respond.

There is no justification other than we were lazy and didn't consider the full body of work.

Hell, the Southland committee member has already stated as much. The committee violated its own guidance by discounting the full body of work.

I hope this changes the selection committees decision. Do we tell them they have by Tuesday to let us know if they changed their mind

Do you actually think Bjork has the cajones to demand anything from the NCAA????

AGREED!

Did Bjork use Comic Sans or something in the PowerPoint he sent over to the committee? Power 5 ADs get these deals done.

Rally the donors. We need basketball NIL support and facility upgrades.

It's not changing any decisions, but that's not the only reason you do things.

The kids earned it, they deserve an answer, we can demand one. When the committee doesn't respond, if we've made our case as publicly as possible and pressed it over and over the point will have been made.

Horrible idea. Zero profit, and terrible optics. You are suggesting let's have a very public reaction that makes us look like a bunch of crybabies, and has absolutely zero chance of changing anything or eliciting any response. We are out. They don't give a crap how we feel or what we say. There is nothing we can do to force a response from the NCAA, and they would be idiots to give us any sort of a response. It's a loose-loose for everyone.

All we can do is own it. We had a great end to the season, but we dug too deep of a hole. We left work to be done. The old adage rings true "if you leave yourself on the bubble, you can't complain." We worked hard just to get to the bubble. It took a miraculous run just to get a second thought. We have only the mirror of Jan/Feb to look into.

We can't change anyone but ourselves, so what use is there in focusing effort on blaming anyone else? Don't rob the kids of what they did accomplish, by focusing on what we couldn't control.

Our response should be to NIL the hell out of the next 2 recruiting classes in basketball. Drive the cost way up.

MarcAg, if you want tangible action, you could go nuclear. We could cancel all current and future athletic events with all SWAC, Southland and Sun Belt member institutions as response to their commissioners roles in the committee malpractice.

The SWAC commissioner has effectively already stipulated that they violated their own guidelines by discounting the full body of work in favor of eliminating teams from discussion after the regular season.

Seems quite obvious now that is exactly what they did.

You don't get it. It's not going to happen. Why you ask? Because Bjork is not a wave maker. He's going to take whatever they dish out at us because it's who he is. No one in an official capacity at A&M is going to send any emails or letters demanding explanations. That's simply the way it is.

Also, the AD should ask the SEC to move to 20 game conference schedule and start scheduling 1-2 more tougher non conference games.

There is a little more influence on those decisions.

Bjork can start by sending Buzz's schedule back to the basketball office and asking for them to put together a better one.

But that might create some friction between them.

I'm all for having an unofficial policy of not scheduling SWAC teams other than Prairie View and just for football.

In basketball, every SWAC game played and won becomes a huge negative on your NET and resume.

Bjork sat back and watched ou and tu get invited into the SEC so that we can play in a division that looks like the Big 12 and the SWC.

Bjork didn't lobby for A&M to get a better bowl than the Taxslayer Bowl after getting screwed by the SEC refs at the LSU game.

And now A&M gets left out so Wyoming, ND, and Michigan can be in the tournament.

Screw Prairie View in football too. Their conference wants to be lazy? Find someone else to fund their athletic program.

Bjork was purposefully kept out of that loop on that by those highest in the A&M system and the SEC office until the deal was already done and had the votes to be approved.

CofJ,

Disagree with you categorically.

Do you think our kids weren't doing exactly what you've asked? Did you watch the last four weeks? Have you placed our resume (as the committee guidelines set forth) against that of Rutgers, Notre Dame or Michigan?

If the committee did their job, there is zero, zilch, nada, rationale for leaving us out. We should have been in ahead of Miami for that matter as well.

They were lazy and didn't keep up.

We have Seniors on this team that don't get the luxury of your "just do better" pragmatism.

Optics would be to our benefit if the demand is well written and Carrie's maximum publicity. We're defending the hard work of our kids and what they earned against a bunch of elitist suits that are lazy and lacking competence.

We lost 8 in a row mid season. That ain't good no matter how you finish. You won't hear Buzz *****ing. He stresses 6 days a week of work…, we took off a bunch of days mid season,

It sucks! I posted we were in after we beat Arkansas. Boy, was I wrong,

Where is this in the selection criteria? It's a lazy take that a bunch of Ags are using to justify the fact we got screwed. We also won 7 in a row? Do those wins count more because they were part of a streak?

It's called a "body of work" and this committee discounted about 15% of it.

Total malpractice, laziness, entitlement, lack of character and work ethic.

I'd like to know if anyone else lost 8 games in a row, 3 of them at home in the middle of year. That's WAY different than winning seven in a row. What really sucks? MICHIGAN wins 17 games, no championship game…. and they get in??!!!

We did overcome them.

We just had a lazy, entitled, low character and poorly led committee disregard 15% of our season. Inexplicably, the 15% that most closely resembles tournament play, is played against the best teams, with the most at stake and representing the closest thing to what the team has become over its journey.

I'm not suggesting that they over-weight if, but they elected to completely ignore it. It's disgraceful.

Just report that half the team tested positive for Covid on the eve of the NIT game. Worked for football, why not basketball? Our first-round opponent gets on to the second round (you're welcome), and we give a silent middle finger to the selection committee.

Bubble teams are bubble teams for a reason. You can slice the statistics in different ways to benefit different people.

No one, and I mean no one, would be listening to anything we "say" publicly at this point. The only air time it would get would be to point out how pathetic it looks crying about this being the worst crime of the century.

It's not like we were a lock for the tourney for weeks, and inexplicably fell due to 1 bad performance. We were out of the conversation, and out of it by a LONG ways, prior to the SEC tourney, even with a strong end to the season. We played well above our average for 3 games. We played our way INTO the conversation. We didn't play particularly competitive in the last game, and were found to be left wanting. That's the risk you run with a season like ours. We just didn't quite do enough.

Crying about it isn't going to change a single thing, it isn't going to get us an explanation, and it isn't going to change public perception. These kids know Buzz loves them, and has their back. That is what they care about and who they fight for. The AD peacocking for publicity isn't going to do a dang thing for the athletes, other than bring unnecessary distractions via media questions. It's going to drag them back through the gutter time and again. For what? For what possible benefit?

Focusing on using our remaining time and reps this year to prepare to not put ourselves in this situation next year is the only thing we can do to help anything. This year isn't over yet. Focus on the next step.
