Is this the right board for the most discussion? Not sure but wow what an interesting documentary.

And it's so textbook fbi the last few years. They created the entire scenario. No wonder the case largely fell apart and wasn't as powerful as they had hoped

Someone who frequents the general board isn't exactly in position to call out others for where they spend their time.

That was an awesome documentary.

College basketball is dirty as hell, but it is kind of the NCAAs fault for making it that way.

And damn, the FBI look like fools in this.

No live tigers, but I would have watched a couple more episodes.

It will be interesting what the NCAA does here. They have to at least pretend to care about this. If not, they can never bring another recruiting violations case against a school. On the surface that sounds like they would like that, but to not even defend amateurism means it goes away and they will have to concede that they must start paying players openly with stipends, etc. which will be expensive.

I don't know. We'll see. But my gut says the NCAA finds a scapegoat and makes an example of somebody just to satisfy the lions and tigers. They want status quo, so they need to do just enough to shut everybody up.

They looked crooked to me. When Dawkins corrected the undercover FBI guy and said the payments run through the parents and kids...not the college coaches and the FBI panics and demands that coaches get paid, that is entrapment in my opinion.

Absolutely fascinating.

Stunning that Will Wade stood there with a straight face and stated he had never done business with Christian Dawkins when he is on tape doing business with Christian Dawkins.

Thought Chuck Persons went down in this investigation but no mention of him.

Really felt like entrapment to me. FBI insisted payments go to coaches in order to build a case. And how weird is it for the lead agent to not testify at the trial.

Why did the FBI want Dawkins to hand them Rick Pitino?

Hop I also wondered if this was entrapment as I was watching it.

Just finished watching this. Really good watch. The FBI, Wade, and Miller look awful after this mess. Christian Dawkins comes off very intelligent and impressive to me.

Christian Dawkins was awesome. This all looked like entrapment 101 to me. That said, there are 2 sides to every story, and beyond just paying players to get clients (which i dont necessarily hold against him), there were a few red flags about Dawkins. The Uber explanation reeked, and while the FBI guy was basically trying to entrap him, just taking the money and letting them think it was going to coaches kind of reeked too. They were trying to entrap him all while he was hustling them. His own lawyer admits he was hustling them. Everyone involved was dirty, FBI, coaches, Dawkins, etc.

Just finished the doc. Very interesting.

I'm surprised how little they touched on the shoe companies and their massive role in the pay-to-play scheme. I wonder if there was any pressure on HBO from Nike/Adidas/UA to leave them out of this.

Interesting watch nonetheless!

I enjoyed it.

I was rooting for Christian Dawkins.
I wish Will Wade gets in deep, deep trouble.
